Probing the Jet–Torus Interaction in the Radio Galaxy NGC 1052 by Sulfur-bearing Molecules

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
The radio galaxy NGC 1052 casts absorption features of sulfur-bearing molecules, H _2 S, SO, SO _2 , and CS toward the radio continuum emission from the core and jets.

Radio-frequency capacitance spectroscopy of metallic nanoparticles [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2015
AbstractRecent years have seen great progress in our understanding of the electronic properties of nanomaterials in which at least one dimension measures less than 100 nm. However, contacting true nanometer scale materials such as individual molecules or nanoparticles remains a challenge as even state-of-the-art nanofabrication techniques such as ...

Multi-Messenger Radio Frequency and Optical Diagnostics of Pulsed Laser Ablation Processes

open access: yesJournal of Manufacturing and Materials Processing, 2022
In this report, a novel non-contact, non-invasive methodology for near and quasi real-time measurement of the structuring of metal surfaces using pulsed laser ablation is described.

Feasible Route for a Large Area Few-Layer MoS2 with Magnetron Sputtering

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2018
In this article, we report continuous and large-area molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) growth on a SiO2/Si substrate by radio frequency magnetron sputtering (RFMS) combined with sulfurization. The MoS2 film was synthesized using a two-step method. In the first

X-ray spectroscopy of radio-loud versus radio-quiet AGNs [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the International Astronomical Union, 2004
A systematic study of 30 Radio Loud AGNs available in the BeppoSAX archive has been carried out. The sample consists of 9 Broad Line radio Galaxies, 5 Steep Spectrum Radio Quasars and 16 Flat Spectrum Radio Quasars. These objects represent, according to Unified Models, objects with decreasing viewing angles.

Spectroscopy of extremely distant radio galaxies [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 1984
In this Letter we report the firm identification of two faint radio galaxies, 3C 13 and 3C 256, and a spectroscopic survey of 13 faint 3CR galaxies. The emission-line redshifts now extend up to z = 1.82 (3C 256), and we here present a list and a preliminary spectrum summary of the character of 11 new radio galaxies with z > 0. 77.

Ageing Assessment of XLPE LV Cables for Nuclear Applications Through Physico-Chemical and Electrical Measurements

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
This paper investigates the changes in electrical and physico-chemical properties of low-voltage power cables for nuclear application when subjected to the combined effects of gamma radiation and temperature.

Radio Observations of Coronal Mass Ejection Initiation and Development in the Low Solar Corona

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2020
Coronal mass ejections (CMEs) are large eruptions of plasma and magnetic field from the low solar corona into the heliosphere. These eruptions are often associated with energetic electrons that produce various kinds of radio emission.

Pulsar Double Lensing Sheds Light on the Origin of Extreme Scattering Events

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
In extreme scattering events, the brightness of a compact radio source drops significantly, as light is refracted out of the line of sight by foreground plasma lenses.

Radio Spectroscopy of Planetary Nebulae [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1978
The H110α radio recombination line has been observed toward the planetary nebulae NGC 7027, IC 418, and NGC 6543 in order to ascertain the physical characteristics of the bulk nebular gas. The observations of NGC 7027 confirm the earlier findings of Chaisson and Malkan (Ap.J., 210, 108, 1976) and Churchwell, Terzian and Walmsley (A&A, 48, 331, 1976)
