A Conceptual Investigation of a Large Radio Telescope Support Point Number Effect on Its Pointing Accuracy

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2020
The purpose of this paper is to investigate a large radio telescope support point number effect on its pointing accuracy and provide a useful guideline for the large radio telescope design engineer. In a large radio telescope system, the azimuth track is

Electrically Tunable Friction: From Sticky to Slippery with Ionic Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates electrically tunable friction “from sticky to slippery” using ionic hydrogels, achieving reversible more‐than‐fifty‐fold modulation without liquid lubricants. An electric field extracts a salt‐rich interfacial layer that dramatically reduces friction.

THE RT-32 RADIO TELESCOPE CONSTRUCTION BASED ON THE MARK-4B ANTENNA SYSTEM. 3. LOCAL OSCILLATORS AND SELF-NOISE OF THE RECEIVING SYSTEM [PDF]

open access: yesRadio Physics and Radio Astronomy, 2020
Purpose: High resolution investigation of spectral lines of space sources requires low intrinsic noise of the radio telescope receiving system. It is provided with both input cryogenic amplifiers and low phase noise of local oscillators. To make spectral

Vision‐Assisted Avocado Harvesting with Aerial Bimanual Manipulation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work outlines the design and implementation of a bimanual aerial robot that employs visual perception and learning to detect, reach, and harvest avocados. A new gripper and fixer arm assembly is used to harvest avocados, while visual perception enables the detection of avocados and estimation of their position and orientation for determining ...
