Operative center of the geophysical prognosis in Izmiran [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2005
IZMIRAN was founded about 65 years ago with one of the goals of carrying out geomagnetic prognoses. More or less, this activity has been developed during its entire history, but about 6 years ago this aim became sufficiently feasible due to the ...

Large scale simulations of solar type III radio bursts: flux density, drift rate, duration and bandwidth [PDF]

open access: yesA&A 572, A111 (2014), 2014
Non-thermal electrons accelerated in the solar corona can produce intense coherent radio emission, known as solar type III radio bursts. This intense radio emission is often observed from hundreds of MHz in the corona down to the tens of kHz range in interplanetary space.

Signal Strength of VLF Radio Wave Measured at Syowa Station in Antarctica

open access: yesAntarctic Record, 1976
The measurement of NAA-17.8 kHz signal strength was made at Syowa Station, Antarctica, for one year from February 1970 to January 1971. The diurnal and seasonal variations of the signal strength are shown.

On the Formation of Cluster Radio Relics [PDF]

open access: yesMon.Not.Roy.Astron.Soc. 331 (2002) 1011, 2001
(abridged) We present detailed 3-dimensional magneto-hydrodynamical simulations of the passage of a radio plasma cocoon filled with turbulent magnetic fields through a shock wave. Taking into account synchrotron, inverse Compton and adiabatic energy losses and gains we evolved the relativistic electron population to produce synthetic polarisation radio

Diagnostic study of geomagnetic storm-induced ionospheric changes over very low-frequency signal propagation paths in the mid-latitude D region [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2022
We performed a diagnostic study of geomagnetic storm-induced disturbances that are coupled to the mid-latitude D region by quantifying the propagation characteristics of very low-frequency (VLF) radio signals from transmitters located in Cumbria, UK ...

Forward Modeling of the Type III Radio Burst Exciter [PDF]

open access: yesSol Phys (2019) 294: 62, 2019
In this work, we propose a forward-modeling method to study the trajectory and speed of the interplanetary (IP) Type-III radio burst exciter. The model assumes that the source of an IP Type-III radio burst moves outward from the Sun following the Parker spiral field line.

Methods and Algorithms of Subsurface Holographic Sounding

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
In our experiments, we develop and test portable multi-element receiver antenna arrays, electrically scanned in order to immediately obtain a recognizable image of subsurface objects.

Nature of microstructure in pulsar radio emission [PDF]

open access: yesMon.Not.Roy.Astron.Soc. 327 (2001) 984, 2000
We present a model for microstructure in pulsar radio emission. We propose that micropulses result from the alteration of the radio wave generation region by nearly transverse drift waves propagating across the pulsar magnetic field and encircling the bundle of the open magnetic field lines.
