Radio Wave Propagation

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2007
Electromagnetic radio waves traveling within earth’s atmosphere are called terrestrial waves, and communications between two or more points on earth is called terrestrial radio communications. Terrestrial waves are influenced by the atmosphere and earth itself.

Radio wave propagation through woods

IEEE Antennas and Propagation Magazine, 1999
In 1997 and 1998, measurements were made of radio wave attenuation through a cottonwood plantation at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, on a number of frequencies between 27 and 411 MHz. Based on these measurements, an empirical formula that describes radio wave attenuation was developed.

Modelling microcellular radio wave propagation

Proceedings of Vehicular Technology Conference - VTC, 2002
This paper deals with the modelling of the microcellular radio wave propagation from the point of view of the radio network planning. Two propagation models, a so-called 3D-model based on the UTD and a ray-launching method, and the COST-Walfish-Ikegami-model, were implemented and some results of comparing the predicted and measured field strength (at 2

Propagation of Radio Waves

1978
We summarized in Chapter I the character of the interaction with the atmosphere of that part of the electromagnetic spectrum capable of exciting transitions in individual neutral molecules. Longer wavelengths in the electromagnetic spectrum (microwaves) do not correspond to any strong interaction, whence a large transparent ‘window’ put to good use by ...

Radio waves and propagation

2003
This chapter discusses properties of radio waves and their propagation. Radio waves are a form of radiation known as electromagnetic waves. The properties of radio waves and the way in which they travel or propagate are of prime importance in the study of radio technology.
