Science, 1975Radioactive emissions from nuclear power plants can be controlled by using a pollution charge. This is a more effective and simpler procedure than the present method of shutting down plants and leads to a more desirable balance between alternative sources of energy.

Light emission of radioactively doped crystals
2022Th-229 has the lowest known first nuclear exited state, which makes it an ideal candidate for a prospective nuclear optical clock. Until now energy and lifetime of this isomer state are known with insufficient accuracy. For a direct (photonic) measurement of this state background effects are not neglectable.

Fusion neutron induced radioactive emissions from surfaces☆
Journal of Nuclear Materials, 1976Abstract Neutron induced direct nuclear recoil sputtering ratios have been measured for a variety of 14.8 MeV (d, t) neutron induced reactions in Nb, Mo, V and 316 SS. Absolute recoil sputtering ratios for forward and backward sputtering are reported.

Radioactivity: Detection of Gamma-Ray Emission in Sediments in situ
Science, 1965A probe for measuring emission of γ-rays in sedimentsin situin water depths to about 35 meters was used to measure radioactivity in the Columbia River estuary and Oregon coastal areas. This technique offers some advantage over methods in which sediment samples are collected at sea and returned to the laboratory for radioanalysis.

THE EMISSION OF RADIOACTIVE NUCLEI IN COSMIC RAY STARS
Canadian Journal of Physics, 1951It has been found that a certain proportion of the fragments emitted in cosmic ray stars formed at about 85,000 ft. consists of radioactive nuclei, i.e., in electron sensitive photographic emulsions, tracks of electrons with energies of several mega electron volts can be seen originating at the end of the track of the fragment.
