Thermal transfer using the high‐temperature crimping method led to the bonding of cellulose fibers and a scintillator to the film surface. β‐Particles of tritiated water were detected by immersing the scintillator‐adsorbed film. Scintillation images of the scintillator‐adsorbed film were obtained by irradiating β‐particles from 90Sr/90Y and α‐particles

Low-Level Tritium Measurement in Tap Water in Bangkok Area and Annual Dose Estimation
Monitoring of tritium concentration in tap water is an essential tool to determine the effective dose received from tap water. Liquid scintillation counting (LSC) is a widely used technique for determining tritium in water.

Abstract Plutonium was discovered and first synthesized in the early 1940's. Several isotopes of plutonium are used in nuclear technologies, 238Pu for heat generation and 239Pu for energy production and weapons. Both isotopes emit alpha particles, which pose a significant radiation hazard when incorporated into the body.

Assessment of 90Sr and 137Cs distribution pattern in organs and tissues of bank vole (Clethrionomys Glareolus) under conditions of Chornobyl zonet [PDF]
Distribution pattern of 90Sr and 137Cs has been studied in more detail and for the first time in organism of common representative of Chornobyl wild fauna – bank vole, which are used in radiobiological and genetic research at natural chronic uptake of ...

Radiometric mapping could play a prominent role in locating the host rock or alteration that leads to gold mineralization. Nevertheless, in low-sulfidation epithermal gold deposits, the radiometric signatures have to be priorly characterized due to their

Invisible Labor and the “Ghost Particle”: Underground Physics at the Kolar Gold Fields**
Abstract When cosmic rays—high‐energy particles from outer space—encounter the Earth's atmosphere, they produce particles called neutrinos. To detect them, physicists go underground inside deep mines where the overlying rock can filter out the cosmic‐ray background radiation.

Flux crystal growth of Ba2[(UO2)2Ti2O8]: Structures, spectroscopies and implications
We report a flux crystal growth of Ba2[(UO2)2Ti2O8], and subsequent structural and spectroscopic studies using multiple techniques including synchrotron single crystal X‐ray diffraction and X‐ray absorption near‐edge structure spectroscopy. In addition, its vibrational modes and thermal stability were investigated.

An electron linac with high beam intensity over 1-Ampere for disposal of radioactive waste [PDF]
In order to dissipate long-lived radioactive waste, not only high ux proton accelerator but also electron linac have been proposed. A proton accelerator directly induces nuclear fission and mutation. On the other hand, electron beam has two processes: production of gamma rays through bremsstrahlung and produced gamma rays are available for the (gamma ;
