Automated Sampling System for Monitoring 85Kr in Air
Radioactive krypton-85 (85Kr) gas, a chemically inert and non-proliferation indicator, is derived from fission products. Its detection relies on the Budesamt für Strahlenschutz–Institute of Atmospheric Radioactivity (BfS-IAR) method, which necessitated ...

Identifying the Presence of Natural Radionuclides in Ashlar Samples
Humans have always been exposed to different types of natural and cosmic radiation. At present we experience 83 % natural radiation, for example from granite marbles, building materials such as concrete, brick, granite, or drywall.

Comparison of Panasonic’s Dosimetric System with Gamma-31 Dosimeters
Equipment being used in medical or industrial institutions is often a source of ionizing radiation with different energies and types, which complicates the detection and assessment of doses. Up until now, for dosimetric measurements of ionizing radiation,

Two-proton radioactivity within a generalized liquid drop model [PDF]
The generalized liquid drop model (GLDM) is firstly extended to study the two-proton ($2p$) radioactivity half-lives of the ground-state of nuclei. According to the comparison between the calculated half-lives and the experimental data, it is shown that the GLDM describes the $2p$ radioactivity half-lives well.

Introduction to Astronomy with Radioactivity [PDF]
In the late nineteenth century, Antoine Henri Becquerel discovered radioactivity and thus the physics of weak interactions, well before atomic and quantum physics was known. The different types of radioactive decay, alpha, beta, and gamma decay, all are different types of interactions causing the same, spontaneous, and time-independent decay of an ...
