Radiocarbon Chronology of the Siberian Paleolithic
Journal of World Prehistory, 1998We have compiled 462 C-14 determinations for 120 Paleolithic and Mesolithic sites from Siberia and the Russian Far East. The Mousterian sites are dated to ca. 46,000–28,500 BP. The Middle–Upper Paleolithic transition dates to ca. 43,300–28,500 BP. Although there are a few earlier sites, most of the Upper Paleolithic sites are dated to the time interval

Radiocarbon Verification of the Earliest Astro-Chronological Datum
Radiocarbon, 2016AbstractPapyri 10012A and 10012B from Illahun, Egypt, provide the earliest astro-chronological datum in history and, while calculated to various years in the 19th century BCE, have never been independently verified. As this datum enables the Middle Kingdom (MK) section of Egyptian historical chronology to be anchored in absolute time, it establishes ...

Ancient Egyptian radiocarbon chronology
Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London. Series A, Mathematical and Physical Sciences, 1970Abstract Radiocarbon dates have been measured which were obtained from historically well-dated Egyptian samples belonging to the time period from the I to XXX dynasties. The radiocarbon and historical chronologies go hand in hand for the entire period in which historical time placement can be independently verified by astronomical ...

Radiocarbon and the Chronology of Scandinavian Megalithic Graves
Journal of European Archaeology, 1995AbstractTwo new series of radiocarbon dates on human bones from passage graves in the Falbygden area in south-western Sweden are presented. It has long been nearly axiomatic that dolmens appeared earlier than passage graves, but the new dates indicate taht both types of megalithic grave were introduced at the same time in the later part of the early ...

Radiocarbon Chronology of Archaic Egypt
Journal of Near Eastern Studies, 1980DURING the Twelfth Nobel Symposium on Radiocarbon variations and absolute chronology, after a long discussion, no decision was reached as to whether or not the beginning of the First Dynasty should be dated 2900, 3000, or 3100 B.C.1 Egyptologists are also uncertain of this date.

Radiocarbon chronology of Black Sea sediments
Deep Sea Research Part I: Oceanographic Research Papers, 1994Accelerator Mass Spectrometer (AMS) radiocarbon analyses have been made on 102 samples from 12 sediment cores and 23 samples from two water column profiles. These materials, collected during the first leg of the 1988 joint U.S.-Turkish Black Sea Expedition, provide the most comprehensive radiocarbon chronology of Black Sea sediments yet attempted ...

Radiocarbon Chronology for Egypt and North Africa
Journal of Near Eastern Studies, 1971THE difference between Egyptian radiocarbon dates and historically established dates can be understood in terms of the changing intensity of the geomagnetic field; radiocarbon dating of bristlecone pine produces a curve showing the deviation of radiocarbon and calendar years (Fig. 1). Plotting of the full range of radiocarbon dates from Egypt and Nubia

Radiocarbon chronology of the Danish Mesolithic and Neolithic
Antiquity, 1972For some years it has been obvious that the new tree-ring-calibrated radiocarbon dates would necessitate a drastic revision in conventional time scales and in the whole structure of cultural relationships developed for the European Mesolithic and Neolithic.
