Tephrochronology and Radiocarbon Chronology in Japan.

Biometric Analysis of Giant and Large Murid Remains From Matja Kuru 2, Timor‐Leste
ABSTRACT Published research on Matja Kuru 2 (MK2) demonstrates its significance for understanding human lifestyle during the terminal Pleistocene and Holocene. Murids represent the most commonly identified taxa in the site, with specimens preliminarily classified as small, large and giant based on size comparisons.

Radiocarbon and Cultural Chronologies in Southeast Queensland Prehistory
In this paper we present an overview of the radiocarbon chronology of pre-European Aboriginal occupation of southeast Queensland. Analysis of these data provides the basis for evaluating cultural chronologies proposed for southeast Queensland which emphasise time-lags between sea-level stabilisation and permanent occupation of the coast and late ...

ABSTRACT Lake sediments are natural archives of past environmental dynamics and how these systems have responded to past climate variability. Sediment geochemistry, governed by local geology and climate processes, is unique to each lake‐catchment and geochemical proxies must be validated for each study site.

ABSTRACT Human skeletal remains constitute critical archaeological evidence for reconstructing past societies, yet their investigation requires careful ethical, cultural, and legislative consideration. This paper reports on the discovery, recovery and analysis of a set of skeletal remains encountered during a cultural heritage management (CHM ...

Timing the Sacred: A Multi‐Step Chronological Framework for the Llullaillaco Inca Burial
ABSTRACT Absolute radiocarbon dating offers high precision, but its application to historical contexts, such as the Inca civilization, requires a rigorous methodological approach. This research examines methods to enhance chronological accuracy through a case study of artifacts from the Llullaillaco Capacocha sacrifice.

Geomagnetic Intensity of Hellenistic Pottery and Stamped Rhodian Wine Amphorae From Jerusalem
ABSTRACT Stamped amphora handles produced on Rhodes during the Hellenistic period are well suited for archaeointensity studies because they often bear the names of annually appointed magistrates (eponyms) and fabricants, allowing dating to narrow time intervals.

Tree Rings and the Chronology of Ancient Egypt
A fundamental aspect of ancient Egyptian history remains unresolved: chronology. Egyptologists (and researchers in related fields that synchronize their studies with Egypt) currently rely on a variety of insufficiently precise methodologies (king lists ...
