Use of XR-QA2 radiochromic films for quantitative imaging of a synchrotron radiation beam [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This work investigates the use of XR-QA2 radiochromic films for quantitative imaging of a synchrotron radiation (SR) beam. Pieces (200 7 30 mm2) of XR-QA2 film were irradiated in a plane transverse to the beam axis, at the SYRMEP beamline at ELETTRA ...

Dose profile evaluation of a 137Cs source using a solid water phantom

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Radiation Sciences, 2020
The precision in the dose values delivered in irradiation processes is essential for the efficiency and quality control of these processes. Radiochromic films can be used to record doses and the calibration of these films must be performed so that they ...

Study on a New Label Dosimeter for Radiation Processing

open access: yesJournal of Isotopes, 2016
In order to monitor the absorbed dose of goods in 60Co γ-rays and electron beams, a new label dosimeter had been developed for dose measurements. The label dosimeter had a multilayer structure, and the core of which was a layer of radiochromic film.

RADIOCHROMIC FILM CALIBRATION FOR DOSIMETRY IN CHEST CT SCANS

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Radiation Sciences, 2021
Phantoms can be used as quality control objects in computed tomography (CT) imaging and dosimetry in specific regions of interest. By means of phantom tests, alternatives can be created to optimize the acquisition protocols and thus modify the ...

Model selection for radiochromic film dosimetry [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics in Medicine and Biology, 2015
The purpose of this study was to find the most accurate model for radiochromic film dosimetry by comparing different channel independent perturbation models. A model selection approach based on (algorithmic) information theory was followed, and the results were validated using gamma-index analysis on a set of benchmark test cases.

Auto-development issue in quality assurance of biological X-ray irradiator using Gafchromic EBT3 film

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2017
Radiochromic films are convenient dosimeters for quality assurance of biological X-ray irradiators. However, their calibration curves (optical density vs. radiation dose) can have relatively short lifespans due to non-catalytic auto-development.
