Abstract Fluoroscopically guided interventions (FGIs) play a critical role in modern medicine, though they potentially deliver high radiation doses that require accurate and patient‐specific dosimetry for risk assessment and patient management. This review provides a historical overview of radiation dosimetry in fluoroscopy, tracing the evolution from ...

Post-irradiation colouration of Gafchromic EBT radiochromic film [PDF]
Gafchromic EBT (International Specialty Products, NJ, USA), radiochromic film is one of the newest radiation-induced auto-developing x-ray analysis films available for therapeutic radiation dosimetry in radiotherapy applications. Part of any radiochromic film product which undergoes a polymerization reaction for automatic darkening is an associated ...

Abstract Purpose Recently, the Enhanced Leaf Modeling (ELM) was developed to improve the multileaf collimator (MLC) model in the Eclipse treatment planning system (TPS). This multi‐institutional study evaluated the dose calculation accuracy and clinical feasibility of the ELM for TrueBeam linear accelerators (linacs) equipped with Millennium 120 and ...

Fluorescent light effects on FWT-60 radiochromic film [PDF]
FWT-60 radiochromic film has been tested for colouration effects from fluorescent light sources and shown to produce a marked colouration when exposed to office fluorescent light sources showing an approximate 1 OD unit per 0.5 J m(-2) exposure to a broad ultraviolet (UV) UVA + UVB spectrum at the peak absorption wavelength.

Modeling Coloration of a Radiochromic Film with Molecular Dynamics-Coupled Finite Element Method
Radiochromic films change color upon exposures to radiation doses as a result of solid-state polymerization (SSP). Commercially available radiochromic films are primarily designed for, and have become widely used in, clinical X-ray dosimetry.

Fast and accurate measurement of small field dosimetry using a novel scintillation detector
Abstract Background The most used instruments for small‐field dosimetry have notable limitations, including the need for correction of output factors, limited scanning speeds, and challenges in alignment for percentage depth dose (PDD) measurements, particularly for extremely small fields.

Evidence of resonant surface wave excitation in the relativistic regime through measurements of proton acceleration from grating targets [PDF]
The interaction of laser pulses with thin grating targets, having a periodic groove at the irradiated surface, has been experimentally investigated. Ultrahigh contrast ($\sim 10^{12}$) pulses allowed to demonstrate an enhanced laser-target coupling for ...
