E2E-Swin-Unet++: An Enhanced End-to-End Swin-Unet Architecture With Dual Decoders For PTMC Segmentation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Efficiently managing papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC) while minimizing patient discomfort poses a significant clinical challenge. Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) offers a less invasive alternative to surgery and radiation therapy for PTMC treatment, characterized by shorter recovery times and reduced pain.

Renal denervation improves cardiac function and exercise duration in a miniswine model of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Heart Failure, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aims Overactivity of the sympathetic nervous system is a common underlying mechanism in development and progression of several heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) comorbidities. Decreasing renal sympathetic nerve activity using catheter‐based renal denervation (RDN) systems have shown efficacy in treating resistant ...

Ictal semiology in temporo‐frontal epilepsy: A systematic review and meta‐analysis

open access: yesEpileptic Disorders, Volume 27, Issue 2, Page 171-186, April 2025.
Abstract We performed a systematic review of the ictal semiology of temporo‐frontal seizures with the aim to summarize the state‐of‐the‐art anatomo‐clinical correlations in the field, and help guide the interpretation of ictal semiology within the framework of presurgical evaluation.

Transition frequencies, isotope shifts, and hyperfine structure in $4s \rightarrow 4p$ transitions of Ti$^+$ ions [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
We have measured transition frequencies, isotope shifts and hyperfine structure splittings in the $3 d^{2}\left({ }^{3\!}F\right) 4 s\,{ }^{4} F_J\rightarrow 3 d^{2}\left({ }^{3\!} F\right) 4 p \,^{4} G_{J+1}$ transitions in Ti$^+$ ions for $J=\frac{3}{2},\, \frac{5}{2},\, \frac{7}{2}$ using collinear laser spectroscopy.

Reflex “toothbrushing” epilepsy: Seizure freedom after focal ablation assisted by ictal fMRI

open access: yesEpileptic Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract A 22‐year‐old female presented with drug‐resistant focal motor seizures with onset at age 14. This manifested as daily episodes of right facial dystonia triggered by toothbrushing, but also by eating, talking, and strenuous exercise. On ictal scalp EEG, there was low‐voltage fast activity over the left pericentral area.

Cryoballoon ablation in atrial fibrillation: Advantages and drawbacks

open access: yesRevista Portuguesa de Cardiologia, 2017
Pulmonary vein isolation is the cornerstone of atrial fibrillation ablation and is effective for preventing arrhythmias recurrences, especially in patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. During the last years, cryoballoon ablation has emerged as an
