Anthropogenic Radio-Frequency Electromagnetic Fields Elicit Neuropathic Pain in an Amputation Model. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Anecdotal and clinical reports have suggested that radio-frequency electromagnetic fields (RF EMFs) may serve as a trigger for neuropathic pain. However, these reports have been widely disregarded, as the epidemiological effects of electromagnetic fields

Searching for the Perfect Wave: The Effect of Radiofrequency Electromagnetic Fields on Cells [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2014
There is a growing concern in the population about the effects that environmental exposure to any source of “uncontrolled” radiation may have on public health. Anxiety arises from the controversial knowledge about the effect of electromagnetic field (EMF) exposure to cells and organisms but most of all concerning the possible causal relation to human ...

Changes in honey bee nutrition after exposure to radiofrequency electromagnetic field

open access: yesThe European Zoological Journal
Urban beekeeping has gained interest in recent years. Bees placed in cities, on the roofs of buildings, are exposed to many different sources of electromagnetic fields of different frequencies and intensities.

Life‐Like Ferrous Oxide Microspheres from Kombucha

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Kombucha bacterial cellulose, sodium alginate, and ferrous nitrate self‐assemble into membrane‐enclosed iron oxide microspheres. These microspheres bud daughter vesicles, sustain 24‐h electrochemical oscillations, and filter theta‐band signals.

Coherent Absorption Reveals Colors Hidden in a Grey Fabry–Pérot Cavity

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A dielectric thin film shows colors depending on its thickness; this effect can be used to encode information normally accessible through single‐beam spectroscopy. We developed a method to conceal this kind of information, based on coating the dielectric with a matched conductor, that suppresses the color‐bearing thin‐film resonances.
