Tumor‐Associated Mast Cells Drive Immunosuppression and Resistance to Anti‐PD‐1 Therapy in Hepatocellular Carcinoma Through CCL17/CCR4‐mediated Regulatory T‐Cell Recruitment

open access: yesJournal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology, Volume 40, Issue 11, November 2026.
Our graphical abstract summarizes a novel immunosuppressive axis in HCC whereby tumor cell‐derived SCF recruits and activates mast cells, leading to CCL17 secretion and subsequent recruitment of CCR4+ regulatory T cells. This cascade suppresses CD8+ T cell‐mediated antitumor immunity and promotes resistance to anti‐PD‐1 therapy.

Beyond Bactericidal: Plasma Surface Engineering to Defeat Food Matrix‐Conditioning Layers

open access: yesComprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety, Volume 25, Issue 6, November 2026.
ABSTRACT The persistence of foodborne pathogens on industrial food contact surfaces continues to challenge global food safety despite advances in sanitation technologies. A central limitation of current antimicrobial strategies lies in their validation under simplified laboratory conditions that overlook the physicochemically driven formation of food ...
