Abstract The Eastern Alps have been influenced by post‐collisional indentation tectonics since the Miocene. Currently, Adria‐Europe convergence, albeit slow, is accommodated and distributed across several faults. The seismogenic potential of some of these faults is unclear. We applied optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) and electron spin resonance (

A feasibility assessment of micromill sampling for Rb‐Sr and Sm‐Nd geochronology of shergottites
Abstract Accurate dating of Martian meteorites is crucial for understanding key events in the planet's evolution. However, not all Martian meteorites are amenable to dating techniques currently in use for these rocks. The priority of sample preservation precludes mineral separation methods for low‐volume specimens, whereas the less destructive in situ ...

Barium isotopic composition of mainstream silicon carbides from Murchison : constraints for s-process nucleosynthesis in asymptotic giant branch stars [PDF]
We present barium, carbon, and silicon isotopic compositions of 38 acid-cleaned presolar SiC grains from Murchison. Comparison with previous data shows that acid washing is highly effective in removing barium contamination.

Near Steady Late Pleistocene Tropical Denudation Rates in SW Madagascar
Abstract Denudation is a key parameter controlling the evolution of the Earth's surface, the production of soils, the stability of relief, or the long‐term evolution of climate. Climate fluctuations conversely have a strong impact on denudation, but these complex feedback mechanisms are still under‐constrained.

U-Pb chronology of the Solar System's oldest solids with variable 238 U/ 235 U
Accurate determination of the absolute ages of the oldest Solar System objects - chondrules and Ca-Al-rich inclusions (CAIs), requires knowledge of their 238U/235U ratios.

Glacier evolution and environmental changes in the northern Jan‐Mayen from the early deglaciation and well into the Holocene are discussed. Results are based on a large chronological dataset (TCN and radiocarbon dates), integrated with field data on glacial landforms and sediments, including the use of GPR.

Erosion rate study at the Allchar deposit (Macedonia) based on radioactive and stable cosmogenic nuclides (26Al, 36Cl, 3He, and 21Ne) [PDF]
This paper focuses on constraining the erosion rate in the area of the Allchar Sb-As-Tl-Au deposit (Macedonia). It contains the largest known reserves of lorandite (TlAsS2), which is essential for the LORanditeEXperiment (LOREX), aimed at determining the

Abstract We modeled the evolution of the terrestrial Magma Ocean using the short‐lived 182Hf‐182W isotope system (t1/2 = 8.9 Myr) in a multi‐reservoir early Earth. We start with a chondritic Earth at T0 = 4.567 Ga. Core segregates and attains its present‐day mass, W elemental and isotopic (182W/184W) composition by the end of core formation (TCF).

Abstract The in‐plane rotation method is used to obtain X‐ray random diffraction (XRD) patterns of polished thin sections of 10 CM chondrites. The samples include five intermediately altered CM chondrites with subtypes 2.6–2.3, two heavily altered CM chondrites with subtype 2.0 and three with secondary heating after hydration (Y 980036, Y 980051, and ...

Mars ejection times and neutron capture effects of the nakhlites Y000593 and Y000749, the olivine-phyric shergottite Y980459, and the lherzolite NWA1950 [PDF]
We measured the concentrations and isotopic composition of the noble gases He, Ne, Ar, Kr, and Xe in the paired antarctic nakhlites Y000593 and Y000749, and in the antarctic olivine-phyric shergottite Y980459.
