Digital Subtraction Radiography for Monitoring Dental Demineralization

Caries Research, 2000
The aim of the present study was to evaluate the assessment of progression of demineralization by digital subtraction radiography. In each of 14 extracted human teeth, 2 approximal enamel demineralization lesions were induced in vitro to simulate dental caries.

Correction of background noise in direct digital dental radiography.

Dentomaxillofacial Radiology, 1996
To clarify the source of noise in direct digital intra-oral radiography with RVG-S (Trophy Radiologie, Vincennes, France) and to use these to develop a method for correction of background noise.Sensor temperature, image acquisition time and X-ray dose were independently analysed with the IPLab Spectrum (Signal Analytics, Vienna, VA) software. The ...

In vitro radiographic density of dental posts measured by digital radiography

Oral Radiology, 2013
This study evaluated the radiopacity of seven commercial root canal posts. Digital radiographs of the seven commercial posts and of the same commercial posts and four artificial aluminum posts inserted in lower canines were obtained with a CCD-based digital sensor.

Dynamic focal plane estimation for dental panoramic radiography.

Medical Physics (Lancaster), 2019
PURPOSE The digital panoramic radiography is widely used in dental clinics and provides the anatomical information of the intraoral structure along the predefined arc-shaped path. Since the intraoral structure varies depending on the patient, however, it

Personal computer equipment for dental digital subtraction radiography vs. industrial computer equipment and conventional radiography

European Journal of Oral Sciences, 1992
A “low‐cost” personal computer (PC) system used to digitize dental radiographs was tested by assessing the accuracy of its subtraction images versus those of “high‐cost” industrial equipment and conventional radiography. Subtraction images were made of artificial lesions in human femur bone and subsequently evaluated by students and teachers.

Diagnostic accuracy of direct digital dental radiography for the detection of periapical bone lesions

Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology, and Endodontology, 1996
The diagnostic accuracy of direct digital radiography for the detection of small, experimentally made, periapical lesions was compared with that of E speed film. The high- and low-contrast resolutions of the imaging systems were also compared. The high-contrast resolution was evaluated with a line pair plate.
