Anthropogenic Iodine‐129 Traces Complex Inflows of Atlantic and Pacific Waters Into the Western Arctic

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 7, 16 April 2025.
Abstract Changes in Atlantic and Pacific inflows into the Arctic are contributing to Arctic warming and reshaping water circulation. However, knowledge gaps remain regarding circulation pathways in the western Arctic Ocean, where Arctic Atlantic Water (AAW) and Pacific Water interact.

Pyruvate kinase modulates the link between β‐cell fructose metabolism and insulin secretion

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 39, Issue 7, 15 April 2025.
Left: Supraphysiological fructose amplifies glucose‐induced insulin secretion (GIIS) through sweet taste receptor (STR)‐mediated PLCβ2 signaling in pancreatic β‐cells. Concurrently, the phosphorylation of fructose to fructose 1‐phosphate (F1P) occurs in conjunction with the conversion of ATP to ADP. Subsequently, F1P inhibits pyruvate kinase M2 (PKM2).

Mitigation of radiation-induced jejunum injuries in rats through modulation of the p53-miR34a axis using etoricoxib-loaded nanostructured lipid carriers

open access: yesScientific Reports
The most widely used cancer therapy is radiation therapy, but radiation damage to healthy tissues, particularly the gastrointestinal (GI) system, frequently reduces its effectiveness. This study investigates whether etoricoxib-loaded nanostructured lipid

Generation of Site‐Specifically Labeled Affinity Reagents via Use of a Self‐Labeling Single Domain Antibody

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 14, April 10, 2025.
Several methods have been used to label antibodies to facilitate visualization of cognate targets. Here, we leverage a new variety of conjugation chemistry, based on a crosslinking nanobody, to label target‐specific nanobody constructs with functionalities of choice.

Grain Boundary Engineering Enhances the Thermoelectric Properties of Y2Te3

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 15, Issue 14, April 8, 2025.
By introducing excess Y and elemental Bi into Y2Te3, this study achieves significant thermoelectric enhancements through grain boundary engineering, yielding a fourfold increase in the Seebeck coefficient, improved power factor, and a peak zT of 1.23 at 973 K, highlighting Y2Te3's suitability for high‐temperature applications and the efficacy of grain ...
