Study of secondary implantation of radioisotopes during alpha-particle irradiation

open access: yesJournal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, 2019
This work presents the recoil and secondary implantation of radioisotopes at different bombarding energies in the range of ~ 13 to ~ 40 MeV by using an α-particle beam of 50 MeV irradiating a stack of Ag, Ni and Ti metal foils.

Radioisotope stents

Minimally Invasive Therapy & Allied Technologies, 2002
Intracoronary stent placement following PTCA improves the long-term outcome of the treated patient, but in-stent restenosis remains problematic, especially in smaller vessels and longer lesions. Intravascular brachytherapy is a rapidly evolving field of research and clinical treatment, with a number of different irradiation techniques being used ...

In vitro and ex vivo storage phosphor imaging of short-living radioisotopes

open access: yesJournal of Neuroscience Methods, 2008
Storage phosphor imaging may be of value for biodistribution studies of short-living radiotracers in small animals. Efficiency, sensitivity and resolution of imaging plates for short-living radioisotopes vary considerably but linear response to many ...

Radioisotopic reflections

Transfusion, 2005
The transfusion of radiolabeled red cells and platelets (PLTs) allows for the accurate determination of in vivo recovery and survival after subjecting the cells to an experimental collection, processing, or storage system. The techniques utilized in these protocols have undergone refinement over the past several decades, and these improvements have ...

Radioisotopes

Physics Today, 1951
The Atomic Energy Commission has accepted two proposals for private firms to study, at their own expense, the commercial feasibility of manufacturing, processing and selling radioisotopes. Contracts have been signed with Bendix Aviation Corporation of Detroit and Tracerlab, Incorporated, of Boston.
