Toward the elimination of bias in satellite retrievals of skin sea surface temperature. 2: Comparison with in situ measurements

open access: yes, 1999
We test a new scheme for retrieving skin sea surface temperatures (SSTs) from brightness temperatures observed by the satellite-borne along-track scanning radiometer (ATSR).

Ocean surface radiation measurement best practices

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science
Ocean surface radiation measurement best practices have been developed as a first step to support the interoperability of radiation measurements across multiple ocean platforms and between land and ocean networks. This document describes the consensus by

Low‐Dimensional Materials and Van Der Waals Heterostructures for Energy Application: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Low‐dimensional materials (0D, 1D, and 2D) exhibit unique electronic and physicochemical properties, enabling advanced nanoelectronic and optoelectronic devices. Mixed‐dimensional heterostructures combine these materials to enhance functionality.

Tuning Colloidal Stability and Photothermal Conversion Efficiency of Graphite Nanofluids via Anionic‐Nonionic Surfactant Engineering

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Graphite nanofluids were stabilized using a mixed SDS/Tween 80 surfactant system. The optimized formulation exhibited enhanced colloidal stability, red‐shifted UV–Vis absorption, and improved photothermal conversion under solar irradiation. Achieving stable dispersion of graphite flakes (GFs) in aqueous media remains a critical challenge in developing ...

On the inaccuracies of dental radiometers

open access: yesPLOS ONE, 2021
This study investigated the accuracy of sixteen models of commercial dental radiometers (DR) in measuring the output of thirty-eight LED light curing units (LCUs) compared with a 'gold standard' laboratory-grade spectrometer integrating-sphere (IS) assembly. Nineteen Type I (fiber-bundle light guide) and nineteen Type II (light source in head) LED LCUs

Revealing Structure–Performance Relations in Core‐Shell Catalyst‐Based PEM Water Electrolyzer Anodes with Low Iridium Loading

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Table of Contents The TiO2@IrO2 core–shell architecture ensures high electronic conductivity even at a low iridium content of 10 wt%. The resulting catalyst layer shows significantly higher iridium utilization than a commercial reference, leading to improved PEMWE single‐cell performance at low iridium loading.

A Combined IR-GPS Satellite Analysis for Potential Applications in Detecting and Predicting Lightning Activity

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2020
Continuous estimates of the vertical integrated precipitable water vapor content from the tropospheric delay of the signal received by the antennas of the global positioning system (GPS) are used in this paper, in conjunction with the measurements of the
