Radionuclide angiography is an established, widely used diagnostic tool. It is safe, easy to perform, and the low patient radiation dose makes frequent follow-up studies feasible. High-quality scintiscans have contributed to the widespread clinical acceptance of the procedure. The areas of application include virtually every organ of the body.

On a weight basis many radionuclides must be viewed as among the most toxic agents known. For this reason and because of the potential of ionizing radiation to produce long-term effects both somatic and genetic, a very large amount of work has been done. In a sense our knowledge of these agents is almost out of proportion to the numbers of human beings

Recent advances in nuclear cardiology have included the application of radionuclide imaging techniques to the detection of coronary artery disease. Exercise Thallium-201 myocardial imaging has proved a sensitive and specific test for the detection of significant coronary artery disease and allows differentiation between myocardial ischaemia and ...

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in the males. It ranks second in cancer-related deaths in the males [1]. The most common symptoms are frequent urination, difficulty in urinating, dysuria, nocturia, and hematuria even though most patients with early prostate cancer are asymptomatic.

Radionuclide Voiding Cystography
Urologic radiology, 1983Radionuclide voiding cystography is a sensitive and accurate method for diagnosing vesicoureteric reflux. This method allows for continuous monitoring of bladder filling and emptying, permits detection of reflux at any time during the study, and evaluates its dynamics.

This chapter covers production of radionuclides referred to as nuclear activation or radioactivation. With respect to their origin, radioactive nuclides (radionuclides) are divided into two categories: naturally occurring and man-made or artificially produced.

Beta-Emitting Radionuclides for Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy
Current Topics in Medicinal Chemistry, 2013The paper focuses on the β-emitting radionuclides which might be useful for peptide receptor radionuclide therapy, PRRT. For the effective design of the radiopharmaceutical, the choice of radionuclide will depend on the purpose for which the radioligand is being used and on the physicochemical properties of the radionuclide.

Radionuclide Venography in Pregnancy
Obstetrical & Gynecological Survey, 1988The role of radionuclide venography is demonstrated in the evaluation of inferior vena cava (IVC) and iliac vein obstruction during late pregnancy. Eight patients with a strong clinical suspicion of lower extremity venous disease underwent routine supine venogram during their third trimester of pregnancy.
