Marine Mammals in the Anthropocene: Developing a Systematic Evidence Base of Threats to Nineteen Species

open access: yesMammal Review, Volume 56, Issue 1, March 2026.
Marine mammals are vulnerable to a variety of anthropogenic threats, yet a global systematic map of the literature for 19 species found both spatial and temporal disparity in research effort between threats and between species. There are knowledge gaps for species and threats, with effort unequal across many species' ranges.

Optimization of radiation protection in radionuclide therapy: Proposals for developing quality assurance programs

open access: yesРадиационная гигиена
In order to ensure a high-quality and safe therapeutic process in radionuclide therapy, it is not sufficient to rely solely on safety monitoring within the framework of production control. Measures must be implemented within a quality assurance system as

Ecological, Functional, and Phylogenetic Determinants of Cyanobacterial Biomineralisation

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology Reports, Volume 18, Issue 1, February 2026.
Cyanobacteria contribute to the global carbon cycle by biomineralising CO2 into solid carbonates. Unlike photosynthesis, biomineralisation is a less‐understood, multifaceted and adaptive metabolic process with significant global impact. It involves cell wall structures, genetic factors, and metabolic pathways that enable mineral formation and help ...

Synthesis and Application of [18F]Togni Reagent I: An Electrophilic 18F‐Labeled Trifluoromethylating Reagent for Positron Emission Tomography Tracer Synthesis

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 4, January 26, 2026.
Togni reagent I, one of the most used electrophilic trifluoromethylating reagents, has been radiolabeled with fluorine‐18 starting from the widely available fluoro‐benziodoxole and the [18F]Ruppert–Prakash reagent. To demonstrate the broad potential for late‐stage functionalization, aliphatic carboxylic acids were successfully converted into their 18F ...
