Movement patterns and radiotelemetry

2009
Abstract There is no greater need for details on the year-round movements and refuges of amphibians in their natural habitats than today, mainly due to the pressure to develop lands for human habitation, agriculture, and commerce, and to define better wetland/buffer zones to protect amphibian communities. Unfortunately, there is a dearth

A portable radiotelemetry receiver for ambulatory monitoring

Journal of Biomedical Engineering, 1982
Abstract Since the idea of small radiotelemetry capsules was introduced some twenty year ago, improvements have been made to the transmitters but little attention has been paid to the receiver/decoder system. The size of the conventional system makes ambulatory measurements difficult: the use of multiple aerial systems increases this difficulty ...

Perioral force measurement by a radiotelemetry device

American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, 1989
A telemetric method was developed to monitor the active and passive perioral forces exerted on the maxillary dental arch. The system consists of intraoral and extraoral units. An electromagnetic coupling between intraoral and extraoral coils supplies the power of the intraoral unit and transmits the signals induced by variations in perioral forces. The

Radiotelemetry for Fawn Mortality Studies

Bulletin of the Wildlife Disease Association, 1967
To establish some of the factors responsible for neonatal fawn mortality in a white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus) population on the Welder Wildlife Refuge in South Texas, radio transmitters, constructed as collars, were placed on 34 and 47 fawns, 1 to 12 days of age, during 1965 and 1966, respectively.

Value of radiotelemetry in a community hospital

The American Journal of Cardiology, 1984
The use of radiotelemetry for continuous electrocardiographic monitoring of patients outside of special care units, although common practice in many community hospitals, has not been adequately studied. Two-hundred five consecutive patients placed on telemetry over a 3-month period were prospectively studied to determine the benefits of radiotelemetry.

Electrocardiography by Do-It-Yourself Radiotelemetry

New England Journal of Medicine, 1965
RADIOTELEMETRY for biomedical monitoring has become a frequently used research tool; however, its high cost has kept it from being universally accepted. A low-cost radiotelemetry system would probably find wide acceptance for clinical and laboratory use by persons with low research budgets.

A radiotelemetry system for polysomnographic recordings in lambs

Methods, 2003
The use of telemetry in biomedical research is rapidly increasing and is soon likely to be standard in research fields where prolonged recordings of multiple physiologic variables are necessary in freely moving animals. We describe our experience with a radiotelemetry system designed in our laboratory for polysomnographic recordings in newborn lambs ...

A RADIOTELEMETRY STIMULATOR FOR CONDITIONING OF LARGE ANIMALS

Psychophysiology, 1970
ABSTRACTA radiotelemetry stimulator for the conditioning of large animals by the application of high voltage, short duration pulses to the skin surface is described. The system uses commercial radio control assemblies to simplify construction.

Radiotelemetry for stomach motility studies in ruminants

Medical Electronics & Biological Engineering, 1964
A single-channel, commercially available pressure telemetry system was compared with a strain-gage-catheter system for recording pressure changes in the reticulorumen of cattle and a deer. Although the telemetry system had some advantages over the strain gagecatheter system, it was believed that longer transmission ranges, longer battery life, greater ...
