The utilization of direct energy deposition (DED)‐arc additive manufacturing processes in industrial applications is increasing, and these processes have the potential for multi‐material applications. This work provides a overview of the state of research in DED‐arc made functional graded structures, to establish a link to potential industrial ...

This study explores the effects of pixel size and spacing when fabricating electroluminescent (EL) multipixel displays. COMSOL simulations identify the impact of pixel dimensions and spacing on electric field distribution and lighting efficiency. Flexible, high‐resolution EL pixel arrays are reverse offset printed, achieving a 96% reduction in pixel ...

This work reveals the phase composition and quantitative morphology analysis of precipitation‐hardened Fe32Cu12Ni11Ti16Al29 complex‐concentrated alloy. The precipitates are shown to have a high coherency. Morphology transition between sphere, cuboidal, and elongated morphology is observed. Finally, the overaging behavior is captured using microhardness.

The mapping properties of filling radius and packing radius and their applications
The filling radius \(\text{FillRad}(V)\) of a closed, orientable Riemannian manifold \(V\) is defined via the canonical isometric embedding \(J:V\to L^\infty(V)\) into the Banach space of bounded Borel functions given by \(J(v)=\text{dist}(v,\cdot)\). Then, \(\text{FillRad}(V)\) is the smallest \(\varepsilon\) such that the (integer) fundamental class ...

A simulative evaluation of triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) structures for an elastocaloric application under compressive load is performed. For the evaluation of the structure's performance, surface/volume ratio, generated heat and invested mechanical work are taken into account and are compared to a tube as a reference specimen.
