Influence of Temperature on Scratch and Wear Properties of Technical Thermoplastics: Implications for Material Selection

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The share of technical thermoplastics is expected to grow further in the e‐mobility segment. In this study, a detailed temperature‐based tribological characterization of technical thermoplastics is performed. The tribological properties are discussed in terms of the dynamic mechanical properties of polymers at different ambient temperatures. A proof of

Center and radius of a subset of metric space [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
In this paper, we introduce a notion of the center and radius of a subset A of metric space X. In the Euclidean spaces, this notion can be seen as the extension of the center and radius of open/closed balls. The center and radius of a finite product of subsets of metric spaces, and a finite union of subsets of a metric space are also determined.

Effect of Thermomechanical Processing on the Impact Deformation of Additively Manufactured 316L Stainless Steel

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Previous studies on additive manufacturing primarily focus on the mechanical properties of as‐printed components. In the present work, researchers explore the potential of employing novel thermomechanical postprocessing techniques to improve the microstructure after printing.

The prospect of confining the equation of state of neutron star with future mass and radius measurement [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Simultaneous measurement of mass and radius with high precision is essential to unravel the equation of state of matter at the centre of neutron stars. Measurement of massive pulsars indicates that the equation of state has to be stiff at low densities.

RADIUS PROTOKOL

open access: yes, 2019
The RADIUS protocol was created in the early 1990s. When the protocol appeared, its purpose was to provide authentication service on distributed dial in servers. Today, it is more used for authenticated access to VPN networks. Many application layer services use RADIUS for centralized authentication, and there are ongoing updates to the application ...

Jet radiation radius

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2014
Jet radiation patterns are indispensable for the purpose of discriminating partons' with different quantum numbers. However, they are also vulnerable to various contaminations from the underlying event, pileup, and radiation of adjacent jets. In order to maximize the discrimination power, it is essential to optimize the jet radius used when analyzing ...

Scalable Fabrication of Height‐Variable Microstructures with a Revised Wetting Model

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Height‐variable microstructures are fabricated using a scalable CO2 laser machining approach, enabling precise control of wettability through structural gradients. Classical wetting models fail to capture height‐induced effects, necessitating a revised theoretical framework.
