Single‐Crystalline Lateral p‐SnS/n‐SnSe van der Waals Heterostructures by Vapor Transport Growth with In Situ Bi Doping

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In‐situ doping during growth of SnSe and subsequent attachment of SnS produces high‐quality lateral pn‐heterojunctions between van der Waals semiconductors. Electron beam induced current measurements demonstrate electrically active pn‐junctions, paving the way for devices that harness charge separation at lateral interfaces in layered heterostructures.

Accuracy of Ultrasonography in Confirmation of Adequate Reduction of Distal Radius Fractures

open access: yesEmergency, 2013
Introduction: Restoration of normal anatomic alignment is a key component of the treatment of distal radius fractures (DRF). This study aimed to evaluate the accuracy of ultrasonography (US) in determining the adequacy of closed reduction in these ...

The Results of Management of Distal End Radius Fractures by Various Modalities

open access: yesJournal of Orthopedic and Spine Trauma
Introduction: Distal end radius fractures constitute 16-20% of all fractures. Extra-articular fractures are managed with closed reduction and casting, while intraarticular fractures require more invasive treatment due to instability and conservative ...

Incidence of Corrective Procedures After Nonoperatively Managed Distal Radius Fractures in the Elderly. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Although the majority distal radius fractures in the elderly are initially managed nonoperatively, the true incidence of subsequent corrective surgery is unknown.

Micro and Nanostructural Diversity of Lizard Osteoderm Capping Tissue in Relation to Mechanical Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study shows that lizard osteoderm capping tissue is a hyper‐mineralized hydroxyapatite layer consistently covering the superficial osteoderm surface in those species studied here, yet it varies greatly in morphology, nanostructure, and mechanical performance across species.

Bio‐Inspired Molecular Events in Poly(Ionic Liquids)

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Originating from dipolar and polar inter‐ and intra‐chain interactions of the building blocks, the topologies and morphologies of poly(ionic liquids) (PIL) govern their nano‐ and micro‐processibility. Modulating the interactions of cation‐anion pairs with aliphatic dipolar components enables the tunability of properties, facilitated by “bottom‐up ...

Clinical and Radiological Evaluation in Intra-Articular Distal Radial Fracture: Operative Treatment with Open Reduction Internal Fixation Using K-Wire and Bone Graft Compared with Non-operative Treatment Using Casting in Women Above 50 Years Old in Soehar [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Introduction. The incidence of distal radius fractures is increasing together with the average age of population. Intra-articular incongruity is the most probable cause of unsatisfactory outcome of distal radius fractures.

Conductive Bonding and System Architectures for High‐Performance Flexible Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review outlines bonding technologies and structural design strategies that support high‐performance flexible and stretchable electronics. Bonding approaches such as surface‐activated bonding and anisotropic conductive films, together with system‐level architectures including buffer layers and island‐bridge structures, possess distinct mechanical ...
