ABSTRACT This study explores environmental justice issues in coastal food systems, focusing on conflicts between small‐scale fisheries and the energy sector due to differing goals in managing food and energy sources. It does so by examining the interdependence between institutions, policies, and different types of knowledge; key elements in building ...

Beyond the Oxo‐Wall: Synthesis and Reactivity of a Six‐Coordinate Formally CoIV‐Oxo Complex
We present the first example of a six‐coordinate formally Co(IV)‐oxo complex, [Co(TQA)(O)(OH)]+ (1), which exists as an admixture of CoIV‐oxo and CoIII‐oxyl resonance structures. Complex 1 is capable of performing oxygen atom transfer reactions and abstracting moderately strong hydrogen atoms at rates faster than other characterized CoIV‐oxo compounds.

ABSTRACT Background Weaning from mechanical ventilation appears to be a complex intervention as defined by the Medical Research Council Framework. However, there is a lack of theoretical insights into ventilator weaning, and the underlying causal mechanisms have not yet been uncovered sufficiently.

ABSTRACT Background Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) requires coordinated multidisciplinary care. Although registered nurses (RNs) play a critical role, evidence on factors associated with the frequency of ECMO‐related nursing activities in paediatric settings remains limited.

Abstract Tropical ocean evaporation is the dominant source of moisture for global precipitation. However, the dependence of evaporation‐temperature sensitivity on ocean surface radiative properties has not been quantified in the fully coupled modeling framework.

Electrochemical experiments reveal what happens, whereas first principles calculations explain why. Emerging computational electrochemistry is bridging these perspectives, enabling quantitative understanding of electrode/electrolyte interfaces and enabling the rational design of next‐generation energy storage materials.

Quantifying Dead‐End Impacts on Radon Signals in Fractured Rocks
Abstract Understanding radon transport in fractured rock is fundamental for interpreting geochemical signals associated with subsurface deformation and fluid transport. The role of dead‐end fractures (DEFs), one key geometric feature of fractured rocks, remains poorly understood.

Although chronic air pollution exposure is linked to lung cancer mortality, the short‐term effects of fluctuating air quality on overall cancer mortality remain uncertain. Here, the authors applied geomatics and machine‐learning models to retrospectively examine possible associations between 31‐day pollution exposure and mortality in a French cancer ...
