Identification of Novel Short Ragweed Pollen Allergens Using Combined Transcriptomic and Immunoproteomic Approaches. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
Allergy to short ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia) pollen is a serious and expanding health problem in North America and Europe. Whereas only 10 short ragweed pollen allergens are officially recorded, patterns of IgE reactivity observed in ragweed ...

Pleiotropy facilitates local adaptation to distant optima in common ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia)

open access: yesPLoS Genetics, 2020
Pleiotropy, the control of multiple phenotypes by a single locus, is expected to slow the rate of adaptation by increasing the chance that beneficial alleles also have deleterious effects.

Time-Domain Data Fusion Using Weighted Evidence and Dempster–Shafer Combination Rule: Application in Object Classification [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
To apply data fusion in time-domain based on Dempster–Shafer (DS) combination rule, an 8-step algorithm with novel entropy function is proposed. The 8-step algorithm is applied to time-domain to achieve the sequential combination of time-domain data ...

Amb a 1-immunostimulatory Oligodeoxynucleotide Conjugate Immunotherapy Increases CD4+CD25+ T Cells in the Nasal Mucosa of Subjects with Allergic Rhinitis

open access: yesAllergology International, 2008
Background: We have previously shown that short-course treatment with Amb a 1-immunostimulatory phos- phorothioate oligonucleotide conjugate (AIC) before the ragweed season modifies the response of the nasal mucosa to allergen challenge in ragweed ...

Parallel flowering time clines in native and introduced ragweed populations are likely due to adaptation

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, 2020
As introduced species expand their ranges, they often encounter differences in climate which are often correlated with geography. For introduced species, encountering a geographically variable climate sometimes leads to the re‐establishment of clines ...

Time-Dependent Effects of Bentazon Application on the Key Antioxidant Enzymes of Soybean and Common Ragweed

open access: yesSustainability, 2020
The presence or absence of light is one of the most significant environmental factors affecting plant growth and defence. Therefore, the selection of the most appropriate time of application may maximize the benefits of photosynthetic inhibitors. In this

Molecular IgE Reactivity Profiling With Micro-Arrayed Allergens Reveals Distinct Interregional Patterns of Sensitization and a Hypoallergenic Region in Türkiye. [PDF]

open access: yesAllergy
A prospective, systematic and cross‐sectional population study was performed involving 1000 adult subjects from five centers representing different climatic areas of Türkiye (Turkey). Molecular IgE profiling demonstrated substantial interregional variation and identified a hypoallergenic region in the easternmost area with a continental climate.
