Restructuring regulation of the rail industry for the public interest [PDF]

open access: yes
Throughout the world, the rail industry historically has been one of the most extensively regulated of all sectors. Price, entry, exit, financial structure, accounting methods, vertical relations, and operating rules have all been subject to some form of

Review on Processing Control Strategy for Electrochemical Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesMetalMat, EarlyView.
This review systematically summarizes recent progress in processing control strategies for ECAM, with three key regulation dimensions: current monitoring and closed‐loop control, temperature regulation, and electrolyte flow/nozzle design. The roles of these parameters in governing electrochemical kinetics, mass transport, deposition stability, and ...

Modelling the Contact Between Wheel and Rail within Multibody System Simulation

open access: yes, 2004
In modern railway industry the simulation of the behaviour of railway vehicles has become an important design method during the last years. Modern simulation packages offer modelling elements that are highly adapted for standard and unusual simulation ...

Analysis of the Crashworthiness of Novel Flax‐Fiber Hybrid Reinforced Three‐Dimensional Woven Composites

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Through‐thickness binder yarns in tailored three‐dimensional woven flax‐fiber composites stabilize damage propagation and promote progressive crushing, enhancing crashworthiness and energy absorption. ABSTRACT This study investigates the impact crashworthiness performance of flax‐fiber reinforced three‐dimensional (3D) composites through a ...

Droplet size spectrum, velocity, angle and flow rate of pulse‐width‐modulated spray nozzles with adjuvants

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Optimizing PWM performance requires not only appropriate duty cycle selection, but also careful choice of adjuvant formulation tailored to each nozzle type. Drift control agents increased droplet size and reduced fine droplets, mitigating PWM‐induced variability. Decreasing the duty cycle consistently narrowed the spray angle.

Modeling of rail track substructure linear elastic coupling [PDF]

open access: yes
DTRT12-G-UTC18Most analyses of rail dynamics neglect contribution of the soil, or treat it in a very simple manner such as using spring elements. This can cause accuracy issues in examining dynamics for passenger comfort, derailment, substructure ...
