Rail corrugation measurement using fiber laser accelerometers
SPIE Proceedings, 2012This paper presents a rail corrugation measurement system based on fiber laser accelerometers (FLAs) which are installed on the bogie of the train. When the train passes the rail with corrugation, the corrugation induced acceleration of the bogie will be detected by the FLAs.

RAIL CORRUGATION IN THE PROCESS OF BRAKING
World of Transport and Transportation, 2017[For the English abstract and full text of the article please see the attached PDF-File (English version follows Russian version)].ABSTRACT It was found in the course of the study that oscillations of the vehicle wheelset’s angular velocity during braking should be recognized as the principal cause of rail corrugation.

Rail corrugation development in high speed lines
Wear, 2011Abstract Rail corrugation wear is one of the most important types of track wear in the railroad industry. The most common cases of rail corrugation that have been documented in the literature were classified by Grassie [1] in six categories, according to the damage and wavelength fixing mechanisms.

On residual stresses in corrugated rails and wheel/rail interaction
1992In recent years the problem of rail corrugations has become more and more important. Thus, there is a strong need for reliable models describing this phenomenon. Several factors which influence the development of corrugations will be discussed, and the dynamic effects in wheel/rail rolling contact processes are considered.
