Dynamic optimization of track components to minimize rail corrugation [PDF]
In this paper, the influence on corrugation of the most significant track parameters has been examined. After this parametric study, the optimization of the track parameters to minimize the undulatory wear growth has been achieved. Finally, the influence

Rail Corrugation Growth on Curves
The development of periodic irregularities with distinct wavelengths (corrugation) on the low rail of small radius curves is studied through mathematical modelling, numerical simulations, field measurements and laboratory investigations.

Analysis of corrugation evolution characteristics based on scale-down tests – contact stick-slip perspective [PDF]
Purpose – Rail corrugation is still one of the unsolved challenges in the railway industry, and the abnormal vibration and high-frequency noise caused by it constitute serious adverse effects on the operating environment.

Crane Rail Health Monitoring With Laser Vibrometry
This paper proposes a method for the evaluation of the combined system of heavy port cranes and the rails on which they run and demonstrates its success. Using techniques from railroad track health monitoring, we record the guided waves created in the rails from the movement of the wheels using laser‐based vibrometry.

The formation, development and classification of rail corrugation: a survey on Chinese metro
Investigations into rail corrugation within metro systems have traditionally focused on specific mechanisms, thereby limiting the generalizability of proposed theories.

Rail corrugation is a typical rail surface defect that can reduce rail service life and increase maintenance costs. Manifested as undulating wears on rail surface, the formation and growth of rail corrugation relies on a combination of wheel-rail dynamic

A method to deduce the characteristics of rail corrugation was developed and presented in this paper. It has been found that noise and vibration in the train vehicle were primarily contributed by rail corrugation and wheel polygonalisation.
