Investigation on tunnel stability considering pipe‐roof support with transparent soil technology

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This study integrates transparent soil technology, 3D reconstruction and numerical simulation to captures the full‐field deformation of shield tunnel instability. Results demonstrate that pipe‐roof support enhances stability via the “soil‐arching barrier effect,” effectively restraining failure wedge development by extending stress transfer paths ...

Dependence of rail potential on the resistance of the traction substation grounding device and rail line parameters

open access: yesBulletin of scientific research results
Purpose: to analyse the dependence of the potential on rails on the track coordinate at different values of conductivity of the grounding device of the traction substation (g0 = 0 S, 10 S, 25 S, 50 S). Methods: the analysis was carried out on the developed substitution diagram of the traction rail network section using the method of nodal potentials ...

Collective Decision‐Making and Institutional Configurations in Polycentric Environmental Governance

open access: yesEnvironmental Policy and Governance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Why do formally similar polycentric governance arrangements differ in their governance performance, and how do institutional configurations of enabling conditions account for these differences? [Correction added on 07 July 2026, after first online publication: The preceding sentence has been updated.] This article examines variation in ...

A Novel Bipolar DC Connection Strategy for Photovoltaic Power Plants With a 50% Reduction in DC Cabling Length

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
Bipolar configuration is a new topology in the direct current (DC) system of photovoltaic power plants, which is topologically analogous to the bipolar configuration utilised in High‐Voltage Direct Current power transmission systems. DC cable length and copper usage are reduced by 50% using a bipolar configuration.

Hydrogen‐Enriched Tri‐Fuel Combustion for Low‐Carbon Engines at Medium Engine Load: A Comprehensive CFD Analysis

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
CFD analysis of a diesel–CH4–H2 tri‐fuel engine shows that increasing hydrogen energy share (HES) enhances mixing and accelerates combustion, improving pressure, efficiency, and reducing CO and soot. At 60% HES, ISFC improves 26.2%, soot drops 95%, while NOx increases due to higher temperatures. ABSTRACT The global commitment to achieve net‐zero carbon
