Hydrological Analysis of the Makassar-Pare Corridor Rail Elevated Bridge in Pangkep Regency South Sulawesi Province [PDF]

open access: yesITM Web of Conferences
Hydrological analysis is an important stage in the development of water resources. Determining hydrological quantities is actually not too difficult if the data for analysis purposes is available in sufficient quantity and quality.

City Diplomacy as a Green Strategy? International Sister City Partnerships and Urban Decarbonization

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The establishment of international sister city partnerships (ISCPs) has expanded since the postwar era, developing from cultural exchanges into strategic diplomatic channels for sustainable development. While their socioeconomic benefits are well‐documented, their potential as instruments for global environmental governance and urban ...

The Macro Vulnerabilities to the Clean Energy Transition: An Empirical Assessment

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The macro environment is one of the analytical levels of the multilevel transition perspective that has the potential to shape the clean energy transition. Following the Political, Economic, Social and Technological (PEST) framework, the present study analyzes the paths by which these four macro dimensions jointly shape wind, solar, and ...

Efficient Harvesting of Irregular and Low‐Frequency Mechanical Energy via Hybridized Electromagnetic‐Triboelectric Systems

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The rapid expansion of the Internet of Things (IoT) and wearable electronics necessitates sustainable power sources to replace the limited electrochemical battery. While mechanical energy harvesting offers a promising solution, traditional harvesters face challenges of irregular and low−frequency environmental sources. This review presents the

Do Product Market Reforms Work? Assessing Regulatory Changes Impacting Competition

open access: yesSouthern Economic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We create a new dataset that characterizes studies of product market reforms implemented from 1932 to 2011. We examine the size and origins of differences in estimated impacts based on an OECD classification scheme for potentially competitive restrictions of regulation. The median impact from switching to a pro‐competitive environment is a 19%

Increasing the Reuse Potential of High‐Strength Steels by Extending the Fatigue Life through Surface Treatments

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Surface reconditioning through mechanical and electrochemical polishing is shown to extend the fatigue life of predamaged 42CrMo4 steel by over 12 times. By removing ≈100 μm of surface material, surface‐driven fatigue damage is mitigated. This study introduces a reuse potential metric to evaluate fatigue recovery and support sustainable steel reuse. To

A large scale quantitative study of pedestrian railway level crossing behaviour : deliberate violations, errors and deterrence [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Every year a number of pedestrians are struck by trains resulting in death and serious injury. While much research has been conducted on train-vehicle collisions, very little is currently known about the aetiology of train-pedestrian collisions. To date,

Investigation of the Reoxidation and Material Behavior of Directly Reduced Pellets and Fines Under Simulated Rail Transport Conditions

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
The study investigates the reoxidation behavior of DRI pellets (Midrex and H2‐reduced) under realistic conditions, considering the test parameters of temperature, humidity, storage duration, particle size (including fine fraction), and container geometry. The samples are analyzed based on mass changes.
