Lightweight Convolutional Neural Networks Model and Data Augmentation‐Based Background Regression for Rail Surface Defect Detection

open access: yesArtificial Intelligence for Engineering, EarlyView.
An ultra‐lightweight semantic segmentation network RailNet with only 0.905 M parameters is proposed for rail surface defect detection. Combined with a CDBM image enhancement and GAN‐based data augmentation, RailNet achieves superior segmentation accuracy and real‐time speed on edge devices.

Numerical investigation of the behavior of approach slabs in transition zone of ballasted track to box culvert in high-speed railway lines [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Structural and Construction Engineering, 2016
One of the most important issues in operation of high-speed railway tracks is avoiding to sudden variation of the track stiffness. Culverts and bridges are common areas which this problem is occurred along the railway lines.

The effect of structural characteristics on electrical and physical properties of electrically conductive compositions based on mineral binders

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
The present-day situation is such that industrial production, municipal economy, traffic, etc consume a continuously increasing amount of energy. As a result, the range of propagation of electric stray currents, including their appropriate potentials and

Analysis of the Influence of Incorporating Different Thermal-Insulating Materials into the Sub-Ballast Layers

open access: yesBuildings
Adverse climatic conditions, particularly excessive water and frost, necessitate the design of thick protective sub-ballast layers when dealing with frost-susceptible subgrade surfaces, especially when using standard natural materials (crushed aggregate ...

Abiotic variables drive different aspects of fish community trait variation and species richness across the continental United States

open access: yesJournal of Animal Ecology, EarlyView.
Trait distributions provide insight into how niches overlap within a broader trait space. By integrating individual‐level trait observations from different communities, we can explore how facets of trait dimensionality vary across environmental conditions.
