Evaluation of Selected Amateur Rain Gauges with Hellmann Rain Gauge Measurements
The paper compares precipitation measurements from the Stratus manual rain gauge from the CoCoRaHS network and two Davis Vantage Vue and Davis Vantage Pro 2A rain gauges with the Hellmann rain gauge. Comparative measurements were made on a specially prepared experimental plot.

Optimal Rain Gauge Network Design Aided by Multi-Source Satellite Precipitation Observation
Optimized rain gauge networks minimize their input and maintenance costs. Satellite precipitation observations are particularly susceptible to the effects of terrain elevation, vegetation, and other topographical factors, resulting in large deviations ...

Cross-validating precipitation datasets in the Indus River basin [PDF]
Large uncertainty remains about the amount of precipitation falling in the Indus River basin, particularly in the more mountainous northern part. While rain gauge measurements are often considered as a reference, they provide information for specific ...

Evaluation of precipitation measurements obtained from different types of rain gauges
The results of parallel measurements of precipitation sums at the Polish Institute of Meteorology and Water Management – National Research Institute (IMWM-NRI), made by 4 types of automatic rain gauges (SEBA, A‑STER, MET ONE and MPS) and a manual ...

Undercatch of tipping-bucket gauges in high rain rate events [PDF]
We have investigated differences in rainfall accumulations for seven high rain rate events from three gauges: a Geonor T-200B vibrating-wire weighing gauge and two MetOne tipping-bucket gauges. The Geonor gauge and one tipping-bucket gauge are located in
