The Bilaspur region lies in a highly seismic zone, requiring special attention for infrastructure development like tunnel construction. Rock strength in the area is low, posing challenges for stable tunnel design. RMR values range from 21 to 30, categorizing the rock mass as Poor, requiring robust support measures.

The 2020 Pettimudi debris flow in the Western Ghats of India killed 70 people. Our study using stereo‐DEM, UAV‐based LiDAR data, and field data estimated the sediment loss as 17 × 104 m3. Abstract Computation of sediment volume and accurate modeling of run‐out using high‐resolution digital elevation models (DEMs) are essential for assessing debris flow

Dynamic Susceptibility of Rainfall-Induced Landslides: A Gated Recurrent Unit Approach
Globally, there is an urgent need for accurate and effective Landslide Early Warning Systems (LEWS). Most LEWS are currently based on a single aggregated measure of rainfall derived from either in-situ measurements or radar estimates. Relying on a summary metric of precipitation may not capture the intricacies of rainfall dynamics that could improve ...

A framework for in‐stream jams formed by snow avalanche‐delivered large wood
Large wood delivered by avalanches organizes into blanket or transport jam complexes.Jam complexes increase channel width and promote pool and bar formation. Avalanche frequency and magnitude, which are dependent on hillslope angle and roughness characteristics, controls jam complex type.

A Step Toward Rainfall Erosivity Mapping Over Türkiye Using Kriging With External Drift
This study maps rainfall erosivity (R factor) across Türkiye by integrating station‐based observations with satellite‐based precipitation data. The Modified Fournier Index (MFI) derived from CHIRPS was first validated against ground measurements and subsequently incorporated as auxiliary information within a kriging with external drift (KED) framework.
