A Distributed Rainfall-Runoff Model

1982
Design, construction and operation of hydraulic works always re quire a previous determination of a maximum flood for a given frequency. When it is desired to forecast changes on the output hydrographs due to alterations in the morphology or land use of the watersheds, the methods at present available are, in general, of limited applicability.

Calibration of Rainfall Runoff Models in Ungauged Catchments: Regionalization Relationships for a Rainfall Runoff Model

World Environmental and Water Resources Congress 2008, 2008
In many regions where rainfall runoff models are required, there is a lack of streamflow data available to calibrate the model parameters. Along with streamflow data simply not being recorded, there are many reasons for a lack of a suitable data set for model calibration, such as significant modifications to catchment characteristics, or long periods ...

Simple Nonlinear Rainfall-Runoff Model

Journal of Hydrologic Engineering, 2000
A simple nonlinear conceptual model for simulating Hortonian rainfall-runoff phenomena is pre- sented. The model is based on the concept of a nonlinear storage outflow relationship and assumes a nonlinear loss module. The abstractions can take the form of a constant or an exponential decreasing rate.

RAINFALL—RUNOFF MODELLING—A CASE STUDY

ISH Journal of Hydraulic Engineering, 2008
ABSTRACT In planning and development of a water resources project, a long and continuous record of hydrologic data is a prime necessity. In this paper, empirical relations between seasonal rainfall and runoff for the Bahuda river basin are proposed and the multiple correlation and regression analysis is carried out to forecast the maximum daily ...

Rainfall-runoff models: A review

Environmental Software, 1990
Abstract Rainfall-runoff research continues to focus upon the inclusion of additional modelling complexity such as hydraulics, or the subtler components of the hydrologic cycle. Recently, attention is being paid towards uncertainty and risk. This paper provides an update as to the state-of-health in the overall rainfall-runoff modelling effort.

The ARNO rainfall—runoff model

Journal of Hydrology, 1996
Abstract This paper describes in detail a semi-distributed conceptual rainfall-runoff model known as the ARNO model, which is now in widespread use both in land-surface-atmosphere process research and as an operational flood forecasting tool on several catchments in different parts of the world.

Parameter estimation in rainfall-runoff models

Journal of Hydrology, 1983
Abstract This paper presents techniques for the estimation of parameters in rainfall-runoff models. In the practical application of models a number of catchment parameters are not directly measureable and it is desirable to make the best possible estimate from known rainfall-runoff data. Three techniques are presented. Linear programming (LP) is used

Development of rainfall-runoff forecast model

Journal of Research in National Development, 2011
This study developed a neurofuzzy-based rainfall-runoff forecast model for river basin and evaluated the performance of the model. This was with a view to capturing the behaviour of hydrological and meterological variables involved in rainfall-runoff process to improve forecast accuracy of rainfallrunoff.
