ABSTRACT This study develops an integrated simulation–optimization framework for sustainable crop allocation and water resource management in the Bargarh Canal Command (BCC), eastern India. Efficient irrigation allocation remains a critical challenge due to competing demands, groundwater–surface water interactions and environmental constraints ...

Instrumented soil column model for rainfall infiltration study
Infiltration and changes on pore-water pressure in soil must be taken into account in most slope stability and seepage problems. Laboratory experiments were performed to examine one-dimensional rainfall infiltration behavior of unsaturated soil.

Infiltration, runoff and particle mobilization on canola fields at langgewens experimental farm, Mooreesburg, Western Cape [PDF]
Magister Scientiae - MScThe primary origin of this project is due to a high demand for freshwater supply in the Berg Water Management Area (WMA). Most of the Berg WMA`s freshwater supply does not live up to the high ecological standards.

Scaling of Short‐Duration, Summer Rainfall Event Temporal Profiles With Warming Over Great Britain
Temperature scaling has been used to analyse the temporal profiles of short‐duration, summer rainfall events in Great Britain, for sub‐hourly observed and convection‐permitting climate model (CPM) data. Results show an increase with dewpoint temperature of event total rainfall depth, maximum intensity, concentration and front‐loading.

Reinforced-soil structures in rainfall-prone regions may deform or fail when infiltration weakens the geogrid–soil interface. This study quantifies the degradation of unsaturated shear strength at a geogrid–sandy-soil interface during rainfall ...

Historical observations and bias‐corrected CMIP6 projections reveal intensifying warm extremes, declining cold events and increasingly irregular precipitation patterns across Morocco. Future warming, particularly under SSP5‐8.5, produces an almost linear amplification of heat, aridity and hydrological stress, leading to longer droughts and more intense

peer-reviewedChemical amendment of dairy cattle slurry has been shown to effectively reduce incidental phosphorus (P) losses in runoff; however, the effects of amendments on incidental nitrogen (N) losses are not as well documented. This study examined P

Characterising City Scale Heat Climatology for Australian Climate Zones
The Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect in Australian cities peaks at night, intensifying under dry conditions, clear skies, increased solar radiation, and low wind speeds. Long‐term observations show that nighttime temperatures in major cities have warmed faster than their rural surroundings and future climate projections fail to capture this disparity ...
