Continental-scale impacts of intra-seasonal rainfall variability on simulated ecosystem responses in Africa [PDF]

open access: yesBiogeosciences, 2014
Climate change is expected to modify intra-seasonal rainfall variability, arising from shifts in rainfall frequency, intensity and seasonality. These intra-seasonal changes are likely to have important ecological impacts on terrestrial ecosystems.

Adaptive and Highly Efficient Thermoregulation Based on Multi‐Dimensional Janus Film

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A switchable TiO2/MXene/PDMS Janus membrane enables dual‐mode radiative cooling and solar heating, achieving sub‐ambient cooling of 17.89°C and above‐ambient heating of 13.82°C. Adaptive temperature regulation was demonstrated with a low power integrated autonomous smart curtain system, providing a sustainable and energy‐efficient alternative for ...

Analisis Karakteristik Curah Hujan pada Kawasan Hunian dan Komersial Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) 2 Cluster “C”

open access: yesJurnal Serambi Engineering, 2019
Based on the hydrological cycle, one of the main water sources is rainwater. weather or climate conditions that occur will greatly affect the nature and condition of a rain or rainy season. On a global scale, the existence of water naturally is constant,

SiDT1 Defines Plant Architecture Reminiscent of Green Revolution in Foxtail Millet

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SiDT1 encodes a GA3‐oxidase that creates a semi‐dwarf, lodging‐resistant architecture reminiscent of the rice Green Revolution. The resulting ideotype performs well under dense planting and provides a valuable genetic resource for high‐yield, mechanized foxtail millet production. ABSTRACT Foxtail millet (Setaria italica) is a drought‐tolerant C4 cereal

Partial Phase‐Separation in the Initial Growth Stage of Exsolution‐Active SrTi0.95‐xNi0.05NbxO3‐δ Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Phase separation emerges during the initial growth of heavily Ni‐ and Ni,Nb‐co‐doped STO thin films, leading to preferential accumulation of Ni and embedded NiOx nanoinclusions in thicker films. Nb co‐doping partially suppresses the ordering of these embedded structures, comprising about 20% of all Ni ions.

RAINFALL INTENSITY CHARACTERIZATION IN SEMI-ARID REGIONS: DERIVATION OF IDF CURVES USING MULTI-MODEL APPROACHES FOR HILLA CITY, IRAQ

open access: yesMağallaẗ Al-kūfaẗ Al-handasiyyaẗ
This study aims to develop a formula to estimate rainfall intensity depending on Intensity Duration Frequency (IDF) curves. The rainfall IDF relationship is one of the tools used in water resources engineering to classify rainfall intensity for a given ...
