Biochar‐based fertilizers improve nutrient use efficiency in sunflower grown on a subtropical tidal soil

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract Improving fertilizer use efficiency is essential for reducing environmental pollution, sustaining agricultural production, and maximizing the economic profitability of crop production systems. This study tested the hypothesis that the formulation strategy of biochar‐based fertilizers, rather than nutrient addition alone, is associated with ...

Integrated biorefinery for cellulosic ethanol and spherical nanolignin production from coconut waste

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract Green coconut waste was subjected to different fractionation methods to obtain integrated lignin nanoparticles and cellulosic ethanol. Pretreatment with gradual addition of dilute sulfuric acid provided a higher structural hemicellulose precursor yield (68.2%).

‘More than information’: A social listening and platform architecture analysis of online special educational needs and disabilities discourse

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Parents of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) increasingly seek information and support through online discussions, yet little is known about how architectural features of digital platforms shape the interactions and support that parents encounter. The paper makes two contributions: First, it develops and applies a

Functional Diversity and Oleaginous Potential of Fungal Strains From Hawaiian Soil Ecosystems

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Fungi represent an important but underexplored resource for microbial lipid production, including nutritionally valuable polyunsaturated fatty acids. Hawaiian soils, shaped by volcanic parent materials and strong environmental gradients, provide a unique setting for discovering functionally diverse fungal strains with distinct metabolic traits.
