Statistics of the total time, in minutes, that extreme rainfall rates are exceeded were computed from weighing raingage records at stations in several rainfall regimes. The results are presented on maps, frequency diagrams and as analytical expressions. Measures of areal variability were calculated from data at seven stations within an 8 km2 area.

Theoretical prediction of rainfall intensity for a small rainfall simulator
2022 IEEE Workshop on Metrology for Agriculture and Forestry (MetroAgriFor), 2022In this contribution, a theoretical approach was developed for predicting rainfall intensity for a small rainfall simulator. The developed equation was tested for two different devices and different pressure head and water temperature values. The proposed relationship was found to have a good predictive ability of rainfall intensity.

Rainfall Intensities and Frequencies
Transactions of the American Society of Civil Engineers, 1938An investigation of the relation of frequency to rainfall intensity, by the statistical method, forms the basis of this paper.

Rainfall Intensities for Southeastern Arizona
Journal of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering, 1988Small watershed storm runoff in the southwestern United States is dominated by intense, short-duration convective rains of limited areal extent. Most commonly, flood peak estimates are based on rainfall predictions found in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Atlas 2, a precipitation-frequency atlas for the Western United States.

Rainfall Intensities in Havana
Journal AWWA, 1948the design of water works, data on rainfall intensities for periods of time of 30 minutes or less are not as important as in sewage plant construction, but durations of one or more hours come within the time of concentration encountered in practice in small drainage areas.

Occurrence of intense rainfall
Annales des Télécommunications, 1977In order to estimate variability, durations, and multiple occurrences of rainfalls at rates of over 150 mm/h, a mathematical expression is fitted to excessive shortduration rainfall data for the United States. Geographical distributions of average durations and depths of intense rainfall are found to be surprisingly uniform.

Rainfall Intensity‐Duration‐Frequency Formulas
Journal of Hydraulic Engineering, 1983A new general rainfall intensitydurationfrequency formula is presented, utilizing a method similar to, but more accurate than one previously developed.

On the basis of the reliable statistics of rainfall rate and rainfall attenuation for 8 localities in Europe, the spatial correlation coefficient of point rainfall intensity was inferred for each locality from the cumulative distributions of attenuation and rainfall intensity by inversely applying the modified Morita and Higuti rainfall attenuation ...

Long-Duration–Rainfall Intensity Equations
Journal of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering, 1995Rainfall intensity-duration equations for long-duration rainfall (that is, for durations from 1 to 10 days) are developed using data from readily available isopluvial maps prepared by the National ...

Regional rainfall intensity formulas based on scaling property of rainfall
Journal of Hydrology, 2004Abstract This work developed regional Intensity–Duration–Frequency (IDF) formulas for non-recording sites based on the scaling theory. Forty-six recording raingauges over northern Taiwan provide the data set for analysis. The temporal scaling properties of annual maximum rainfall series for various durations were first investigated. The hypothesis of
