Sustainable Development of Rainfed Agriculture
On identifying the rainfed districts in the country with less than 30% dependable irrigation, it was found that as many as 326 of the 631 districts studied were rainfed. Various indicators were studied from the latest data as available between rainfed and irrigated districts under arid, semi-arid and humid climatic regimes.

ABSTRACT Long‐term economic analyses of variable rate irrigation (VRI) strategies were performed compared with uniform irrigation management (UIM) in a reference production field using the AquaCrop model. Five strategies to trigger irrigation were as follows: (Field Capacity‐VRI, Driest Soil Trigger‐VRI, Water Mining‐VRI, Conventional Uniform ...

Historical observations and bias‐corrected CMIP6 projections reveal intensifying warm extremes, declining cold events and increasingly irregular precipitation patterns across Morocco. Future warming, particularly under SSP5‐8.5, produces an almost linear amplification of heat, aridity and hydrological stress, leading to longer droughts and more intense

Abstract Chickpeas (Cicer arietinum L.) serve as a protein‐rich staple, particularly in Mediterranean countries, where they are often grown in marginal and water‐stressed areas. This meta‐analysis synthesized evidence from peer‐reviewed publications across Mediterranean countries to assess how chickpea rhizobial inoculation influences chickpea ...

Is quinoa‐farming sustainable in marginal environments? Social, economical and environmental aspects
Abstract Quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd.) is an Andean grain crop introduced as a novel crop to many parts of the world in recent years. Recognized for nutritious seeds and high abiotic stress tolerance, it has been promoted as an element of climate‐resilient agriculture, particularly in marginal environments.
