A Bountiful Harvest of Rainwater
Science, 2001Over thousands of years, societies have developed a diversity of local water harvesting and management regimes that continue to survive in South Asia, Africa, and other parts of the world ([1][1]).

From Rainwater Harvesting to Rainwater Management Systems
2018This keynote extended abstract investigates the recent shift in the drivers, objectives and application of rainwater harvesting. A review of historical rainwater harvesting technologies was undertaken and the context set for rainwater to be valued as an alternative water resource in specific circumstances.

A remark on Rainwater's theorem
2005Summary: We define Rainwater sets as subsets of the dual of a Banach space for which Rainwater's theorem holds and show that (I)-generating subsets have this property. We apply this observation to give a proof of James' theorem when the dual unit ball is sequentially compact in its weak-star topology.

Measurements of nitrite in urban rainwater collected in the U.K. are reported. These agree with earlier measurements in Japan, Bangladesh and the U.S.A. and show that nitrite is only a minor species in rainwater, being present at 0.012–0.181 μg ml−1 (~ 1 % of the nitrate). It is concluded that the contribution of nitrite to the aqueous oxidation of SO2

To deal with rainwater harvesting, knowledge of rain, rainfall, and rainwater is necessary. Knowledge of the formation of rain in clouds and its pattern of falling to the Earth’s surface helps one to understand more about quality of rain and the quantity of rain that can be collected for harvesting.
