Nonlinear dynamics of Raman lasers

Physical Review A, 1990
It has recently been shown that single mode Raman lasers are reducible to a simple mathematical description [1] similar to that of the detuned Haken-Lorenz model but for which operating conditions are considerably relaxed. As such they provide excellent opportunity for quantitative tests of nonlinear dynamics.

Laser Raman spectra of glucagon

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1979
Abstract Laser Raman spectroscopy study indicates that in concentrated fresh acidic solution (30 mg/ml), glucagon remains predominantly α-helix and not random-coil. The splitting of the amide III band into three components in the crystal at 1262, 1275, and 1295 cm −1 is due to the α-conformation as expected.

Laser Raman studies on cobrotoxin

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Protein Structure, 1978
Laser Raman spectra of cobrotoxin under various conditions have been obtained. Comparison of the spectra of native cobrotoxin in lyophilized form and in aqueous solution indicates that the secondary structures of cobrotoxin are not significantly affected by the removal of the aqueous solvent.

Fiber Raman lasers

Fiber and Integrated Optics, 1979
Optical fibers can exhibit wavelength conversion and other nonlinear optical effects at powers less than one watt. The reason has little to do with the glass in the fiber core, which is one of the least nonlinear of all materials, but rather with the tremendous interaction length possible in low-loss fibers.

The combination of an artificial intelligence approach and laser tweezers Raman spectroscopy for microbial identification.

Analytical Chemistry, 2020
Raman spectroscopy is a non-destructive, label-free, highly-specific approach which provides the chemical information of materials. Thus, it is suitable to be used as an effective analytical tool to characterize biological samples.

Comparative spontaneous Raman spectroscopy of crystals for Raman lasers

Applied Optics, 1999
A comparison of the spectroscopic parameters of Raman-active vibronic modes in various crystalline materials with a view to the use of these crystals for stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) is presented. It includes data on the Raman frequency shift, linewidth, integral, and peak Raman scattering cross sections.

Identification and visualisation of microplastics/ nanoplastics by Raman imaging (ii): Smaller than the diffraction limit of laser?

Water Research, 2020
We recently reported (Sobhani et al., 2020) that when a confocal Raman microscope imaged a nanoplastic with the diameter of 100 nm, the imaging lateral size was 300-400 nm, due to the diffraction limit of the laser spot.

Titanium enhanced Raman microcavity laser

SPIE Proceedings, 2014
Whispering gallery mode microcavities are ideally suited to form microlaser devices because the high circulating intensity within the cavity results in ultralow lasing thresholds. However, to achieve low-threshold Raman lasing in silica devices, it is necessary to have quality factors above 100 million. One approach to circumvent this restriction is to

Laser-Raman-Spektroskopie

1991

Measurement of thermal contact resistance between individual carbon fibers using a laser-flash Raman mapping method

Carbon, 2019
Thermal contact resistance (TCR) between individual carbon fibers (CFs) can dominate heat dissipation rates in CF-based composite materials. Here, we develop a totally non-contact “laser-flash Raman mapping” method to simultaneously measure the TCR at ...
