Raman Spectra of the Mercaptans [PDF]
AN investigation by me of the Raman effect in a series of mercaptans has yielded some noteworthy results. As is well known, the mercaptans are chemically analogous to the alcohols, the SH group in them replacing the OH group characteristic of the alcohols.

Low frequency Raman studies of multi-wall carbon nanotubes: experiments and theory
In this paper, we investigate the low frequency Raman spectra of multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWNT) prepared by the electric arc method. Low frequency Raman modes are unambiguously identified on purified samples thanks to the small internal diameter of ...

Effect of impurities on the Raman scattering of 6H-SiC crystals
Raman spectroscopy was applied to different-impurities-doped 6H-SiC crystals. It had been found that the first-order Raman spectra of N-, Al- and B-doped 6H-SiC were shifted to higher frequency when comparing with undoped samples.

Distinct magneto-Raman signatures of spin-flip phase transitions in CrI3
Thin samples CrI3 exhibit a phase transition under an applied magnetic field from layered antiferromagnetism to ferromagnetism. Here the authors observe an associated abrupt change in the magneto-Raman spectra, illustrating the sensitivity of Raman ...

High-pressure Raman study of L-alanine crystal
Pressure-dependent Raman scattering studies in the range 0.0 -- 32 kbar were carried out in L-alanine in order to investigate its external mode phonon spectra in relation to the phase transitions in the crystal.

Multi-phonon Raman scattering in semiconductor nanocrystals: importance of non-adiabatic transitions
Multi-phonon Raman scattering in semiconductor nanocrystals is treated taking into account both adiabatic and non-adiabatic phonon-assisted optical transitions.

Oligorylene nanographenes and x-shape multiradicaloid molecules: structural insights from Raman spectroscopy [PDF]
Raman spectroscopy has been the technique of choice for the structural study of carbonaceous materials, including graphitic substrates, carbon nanotubes, fullerenes, conducting polymers and graphene.1 In the material science and organic chemistry ...
