Combining Time-Dependent Force Perturbations in Robot-Assisted Surgery Training [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Teleoperated robot-assisted minimally-invasive surgery (RAMIS) offers many advantages over open surgery. However, there are still no guidelines for training skills in RAMIS. Motor learning theories have the potential to improve the design of RAMIS training but they are based on simple movements that do not resemble the complex movements required in ...

Mechanical Properties of Untreated and Alkaline Treated Kenaf and Ramie Fabric Reinforced Epoxy Composites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This research work is concerned with the determination of tensile, flexural and impact properties of kenaf and ramie fabric reinforced epoxy composites at three and eleven layers of fibre and different treatment (i.e. alkaline or non-alkaline) methods.

Advances in high‐throughput experiments of polymer crystallization for developing polymer processing

open access: yesMaterials Genome Engineering Advances, Volume 3, Issue 1, March 2025.
Polymer crystallization during polymer processing is characterized by high‐throughput synchrotron radiation X‐ray experiments. Crystal orientation, crystal structure parameters (such as long period, crystal thickness, and lattice spacing), and crystal form transformation are obtained from in situ SAXS/WAXD under coupled external fields of temperature ...

Green Nanotechnology of Cell Wall Swelling for Nanostructured Transparent Wood of High Optical Performance

open access: yesSmall, Volume 21, Issue 5, February 5, 2025.
Extensive cell wall swelling is achieved through sub‐zero centigrade NaOH treatment, leading to vastly increased cell wall accessibility. High‐performance transparent wood (TW) with a thickness of 15 mm and attenuation coefficient of 0.48 cm−1 is then successfully prepared based on the NaOH‐swollen wood.
