Estimation of longitudinal and transverse stiffness of hemp fibers and their composites using experimental material parameters and invariants

open access: yesPolymer Composites, Volume 46, Issue S1, Page S705-S721, 10 September 2025.
The utilization of the trace normalized stiffness parameter facilitates direct comparison between natural and non‐natural composites, as it acts as a material parameter. This facilitates the reverse calculation of fiber properties. Abstract The use of hemp is becoming increasingly favored due to its low carbon footprint and biodegradability advantages ...

Influence of Facility Size on Perioperative Outcomes in Minimally Invasive Esophagectomy for 14 152 Patients With Esophageal Cancer Based on the Japanese National Clinical Database: A Multicenter Cohort Study

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, Volume 9, Issue 5, Page 942-951, September 2025.
This multicenter study investigated 14 152 minimally invasive esophagectomies (MIEs) using data from the Japanese National Clinical Database and showed a significantly lower operative mortality rate in high‐volume centers than in low‐volume centers. However, no differences in morbidity rates were found between facility sizes.
