A Comprehensive Review on Bast Fibre Retting Process for Optimal Performance in Fibreā€Reinforced Polymer Composites

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, Volume 2020, Issue 1, 2020., 2020
Natural fibres are a gift from nature that we still underutilise. They can be classified into several groups, and bast natural fibre reinforcement in polymer composites has the most promising performance, among others. However, numerous factors have reported influences on mechanical properties of the fibreā€reinforced composite, including natural fibre ...

Improved a priori error estimates for a discontinuous Galerkin pressure correction scheme for the Navier-Stokes equations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
The pressure correction scheme is combined with interior penalty discontinuous Galerkin method to solve the time-dependent Navier-Stokes equations. Optimal error estimates are derived for the velocity in the L$^2$ norm in time and in space. Error bounds for the discrete time derivative of the velocity and for the pressure are also established.

[Retracted] Elucidation of Genotypic Variability, Character Association, and Genetic Diversity for Stem Anatomy of Twelve Tossa Jute (Corchorus olitorius L.) Genotypes

open access: yesBioMed Research International, Volume 2020, Issue 1, 2020., 2020
Background and Aims. Anatomy of twelve tossa jute genotypes were performed for the variability, heritability, and genetic advance based on yield attributing six anatomical traits. Materials and Methods. The experiments were carried out in field and laboratory including 12 tossa jute genotypes followed by RCB design in JAES, Manikganj, and Bangladesh ...

Contribution of dielectrics to frequency and noise of NbTiN superconducting resonators [PDF]

open access: yesAppl. Phys. Lett. 92, 223502 (2008), 2008
We study NbTiN resonators by measurements of the temperature dependent resonance frequency and frequency noise. Additionally, resonators are studied covered with SiOx dielectric layers of various thicknesses. The resonance frequency develops a non-monotonic temperature dependence with increasing SiOx layer thickness.

Characterization by Suppression Subtractive Hybridization of Transcripts That Are Differentially Expressed in Leaves of Anthracnose-Resistant Ramie Cultivar [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
For the purpose of screening putative anthracnose resistance-related genes of ramie (Boehmeria nivea L. Gaud), a cDNA library was constructed by suppression subtractive hybridization using anthracnose-resistant cultivar Huazhu no. 4.

EFFECT OF ADDITION RAMIE AND COCONUT COIR FIBERS WITH DIFFERENT CONCENTRATIONS ON TENSILE STRENGTH OF ACRYLIC DENTURE BASE

open access: yesJournal of Vocational Health Studies, 2023
Background: Acrylic denture base material has advantages such as good aesthetics, ease of repair, and affordable price, but this denture has mechanical properties, one of which is low tensile strength so fractures often occur during use.

Bio-Polyurethane Resins Derived from Liquid Fractions of Lignin for the Modification of Ramie Fibers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
In this study, technical lignin from black liquor was used as a pre-polymer for the preparation of bio-polyurethane (Bio-PU) resins. Briefly, the isolated lignin was fractionated using ethyl acetate (EtAc) and methanol (MeOH).

Diversity and characterization of ramie-degumming strains [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Ramie (Boehmeria nivea and Boehmeria tenacissima) is a widely used fiber crop. Traditional water retting or chemical boiling method performed in order to extract ramie fiber seriously pollute the environment and severely damage the fiber, so biological ...
