Design of a Ramjet-Assisted Shell with Front Intake

open access: yesAerospace
Artillery shells are usually large-caliber projectiles fired by artillery guns. Present long-range artillery shells use techniques such as the base bleed system to reduce the drag coefficient of the shell, but could only increase the range of the shell ...

Analytical and Numerical Feasibility Analysis of a Contra-Rotary Ramjet Engine

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
A new idea for a contra-rotary ramjet engine is presented. To define the theoretical limits of the non-typical, contra-rotary ramjet engine configuration, its analytical model was developed. The results obtained from that model and the analytical results

Numerical Investigation on the Effect of Fuel‐Rich Degree in the RBCC Engine under the Ejector Mode

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aerospace Engineering, Volume 2024, Issue 1, 2024.
The ejector mode of the Rocket‐Based Combined‐Cycle (RBCC) engine is characterized by high fuel consumption. This study is aimed at investigating the influence of the rocket fuel‐rich degree on the RBCC engine’s performance under the ejector mode combined with simultaneous mixing and combustion (SMC).

An Integration of the Turbojet and Single-Throat Ramjet [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
A turbine-engine-based hybrid propulsion system is described. Turbojet engines are integrated with a single-throat ramjet so as to minimize variable geometry and eliminate redundant propulsion components.

Dynamic Testing of a Hybrid-Propellant Water-Breathing Ram Rocket in Underwater Cruise Conditions

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
High-speed submerged marine vehicles, such as torpedoes, traveling at velocities of an order of 100 m/s and above, require powerful propulsion to overcome the tremendous hydrodynamic drag.

Combustion of polymethylmethacrylate in a solid fuel ramjet

open access: yesJournal of Propulsion and Power, 1990
The combustion behavior of polymethylmet hacrylate (PMMA) in a solid fuel ramjet (SFRJ) was investigated using a connected pipe test facility. The study was oriented towards understanding the most important phenomena related to the combustion in an SFRJ. Regression rates have been determined, and spectroscopy has shown the occurrence of OH, C2, and CH.
