ABSTRACT Subfossil insect communities from the Quartz Creek site provide a detailed record of both Late Pleistocene steppe–tundra and Holocene boreal forest ecosystems in central Yukon Territory, Canada. Fifteen Pleistocene assemblages (marine isotope stages [MIS] 4 to 2) are dominated by steppe–tundra and dry‐tundra taxa, particularly the weevils ...

ABSTRACT Illegal gold mining has emerged as a major sustainability threat in the Amazon, eroding Indigenous rights, forest integrity, and climate mitigation efforts. This study examines how international market incentives relate to the expansion of illegal mining and associated deforestation within the Yanomami Indigenous Territory (YIT) from 2008 to ...

On Monochromatic Subgraphs of Edge-Colored Complete Graphs
In a red-blue coloring of a nonempty graph, every edge is colored red or blue. If the resulting edge-colored graph contains a nonempty subgraph G without isolated vertices every edge of which is colored the same, then G is said to be monochromatic.

ABSTRACT Corporate sustainability in the Global South unfolds under heterogeneous institutional conditions, where firms face simultaneous pressures from global ESG standards and local governance constraints. This study examines the relationship between ESG‐aligned environmental practices and corporate financial performance, considering the moderating ...

Fractional Ramsey numbers \(r_f(x,y)\) are defined as the smallest integer \(n\) such that for any red/blue coloring of the edges of the complete graph \(K_n\) either the red subgraph has the fractional clique number \(x\) or the blue subgraph has the fractional clique number \(y\).

FinTech and Environmental Sustainability: Evidence From Brazil
ABSTRACT This study explores the dynamic interplay between economic growth and environmental sustainability from a FinTech perspective, using Brazil as a case study. While FinTech's contribution to green transformation, sustainable finance, and resource efficiency has gained increasing attention, a notable lack of empirical research remains to assess ...

The Ramsey numbers of fans versus a complete graph of order five
For two given graphs $F$ and $H$, the Ramsey number $R(F,H)$ is the smallest integer $N$ such that for any graph $G$ of order $N$, either $G$ contains $F$ or the complement of $G$ contains $H$.

We present data which, to the best of our knowledge, includes all known nontrivial values and bounds for specific graph, hypergraph and multicolor Ramsey numbers, where the avoided graphs are complete or complete without one edge. Many results pertaining to other more studied cases are also presented.

Energy Poverty and Climate Shocks: Are Changing Weather Patterns Leaving South Africa in the Dark?
ABSTRACT Energy and climate change are deeply interlinked, with the latter exerting significant influence on energy demand and supply. In regions such as South Africa, where socio‐economic vulnerability is high, understanding how climate change affects energy poverty is essential to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 7 ...

ABSTRACT Identifying the principal drivers of carbon emissions is vital for designing effective mitigation strategies and supporting long‐term environmental sustainability. Although previous studies have explored multiple determinants of emissions, limited attention has been paid to the most influential energy–technology channels within trade‐dependent
