Somatic genome‐doubling is the most parsimonious route to allopolyploidy

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 250, Issue 5, Page 2845-2851, June 2026.
Summary The origin of a polyploid can hinge on a single errant cell division, a mistake in the cell cycle that leads to genome‐doubling and re‐writes the rules of chromosome pairing and segregation. In plants, the evolutionary significance of these errors is magnified by lack of an early sequestered germline, meaning somatic mutations can be heritable.

Evaluating Ballot Initiative Results for Adult‐Use Marijuana in Ohio: Understanding County‐Level Support

open access: yesPolitics &Policy, Volume 54, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT In the 2023 November election, Ohioans voted in favor of Issue 2—the Marijuana Legalization Initiative. Kripke on Gödel Incompleteness

open access: yesTheoria, Volume 92, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper surveys six of Saul Kripke's highly creative ideas and results on Gödel incompleteness, from when he was an undergraduate to last publications. These include his extension of incompleteness from sentences to predicates, his model‐theoretic proof of incompleteness of arithmetic, his compelling analysis of incompleteness in terms of ...

Molecular Clocks in Translational Roadmap for Circadian‐Based Therapeutics in Lung Diseases

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 10, 31 May 2026.
High‐amplitude circadian oscillations maintain lung immune and epithelial homeostasis. Chronic inflammation dampens peripheral clock amplitude, driving chronodisruption, barrier dysfunction, and remodeling. Clock‐targeted therapies re‐entrain the lung circadian clock, restore rhythmic immune resolution, and promote functional lung repair.
